Description from owner
Description
Perfect for two, Rosebank cottage has been tastefully renovated and is in the heart of the picturesque village of Lindale. Catch the sun in the garden terrace or climb through the flowers for a view to estuary and fells. The cottage has a large and sunny double bedroom,a bathroom with thermostatic shower and bath, a comfortable dining/ living room with woodburning stove and a modern fitted kitchen.
Medieval Cartmel and the sea at Grange over Sands are just a couple of miles away. Local walks start from Lindale and provide spectacular views to the lakeland fells and over Morecambe Bay . Higher climbs are accessible after a short drive, as are interesting market towns at Kendal and Ulverston.
There are noted gardens at Levens, Sizergh and Holker, and the area's wild flowers are abundant. Local woods are full of wild daffodils, white wild garlic and bluebells. Morecambe Bay has several bird reserves and gives the area its benign climate.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for this review. I'm so pleased you liked the cottage and enjoyed your stay. The area is very pretty and, as you say, quiet, especially compared with the central areas like Windermere and Ambleside. (Though these are within easy reach). For anyone interested, the village pub has a good reputation for food as well.

“Fantastic cottage”
Just back from a fabulous week in this fantastic little cottage, perfect for 2 people. On arrival I realised that my printer hadn't printed off all the access instructions and on trying to get them on my phone I found I had no signal. A quick phone call to June who gave me the key safe code and 5 minutes later we were in. The cottage has everything you need, a well equipped kitchen, nice living area and a really comfortable bed (I'm a very bad sleeper but slept like a log every single night!) The garden is pretty and we spent a lot of time sitting out in the sun. We visited the Royal Oak for food and found it excellent and also had a sit in meal at the Amber Court chinese in Grange, which was also very good. Grange Over Sands is a lovely town and we did some cycling through the country lanes and surrounding area. Cartmel is pretty but very expensive! We loved Bowness, if a bit touristy, and a visit to the Royalty Cinema there is a must, a real blast from the past. We took the steamboat from Bowness to Ambleside, our favourite place, and cycled to Coniston Water. Also recommend the Motor Museuem, very interesting. One thing to note - parking is VERY expensive in the Lake District and it's always handy to have lots of 10p and 20p as everywhere charges for public toilets, ranging from 20p to 50p in Bowness. Couple of small gripes- no washing machine at the cottage (understandable due to lack of room) so would have preferred extra towels (I washed the ones we were given by hand and luckily we had sunshine to dry them outside) and the tv was rather small! We don't have the best eyesight and even moving it closer didn't help! Also, was not sure what to do about recycling, there was info on collection dates and what goes where but no bags/bins anywhere in the house. We couldn't see any recycling points in Lindale either so in the end we bagged it up and left by the bin to be disposed of, apologies if this was wrong. All in all, a great holiday and will definitely recommend Rosebank Cottage to others.

Response from the owner Thanks for your review Paula. I’m so glad you liked the cottage and enjoyed your trip to the Lakes. There is indeed a lot to see and do at all times of the year. We will update the information in the cottage about recycling. Unfortunately there are no easy options.
