Description
Self catering cottage (adults only), with home from home facilities, including free Wi-Fi, open plan living area of sitting room/dining area and fitted kitchen. Stairs leading to double bedroom and bathroom with shower over bath. 5 acres of grassland kept for wildlife, with pathways cut in for easy walking, picnic benches and a BBQ (shared with one other cottage - a 3 bed/5 person cottage next door (Barnestock https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/VacationRentalReview-g528850-d3190196-Venton_House_Cottages_Barnestock_dog_friendly-Liskeard_Cornwall_England.html), which if available, can be booked for larger/multi generation parties. An area for ball games, garden furniture, ample parking and a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble drier which are free to use. Overlooking a pretty garden area, the delightful stable conversion is ideally situated to explore this lovely area of Cornwall, including Looe and Polperro with lovely sandy beaches. The International St Mellion golf course is approx. 8 miles away and there are several other golf courses close by. On the north coast you have the surfing capital of the UK at Newquay. The Eden project is approx. 24 miles away and there are many National Trust properties in the area. The town of Liskeard is 5 minutes/2 miles away for all your shopping needs, with supermarkets and lots of smaller independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Local takeaways in the area deliver so can have a break from cooking! Let the children run free in the large grounds, and make as much noise as they want, while you sit back and relax and make yourself at home.

Dogs are very welcome, as long as they're well behaved and house trained. A couple of small dogs or one medium dog would be ok. Whilst we welcome dogs, they're not allowed on furniture, including the bed.
Please note we do not accept work crews of any kind.

The 5 acres of grassland is great for children and dogs to run wild and burn off some energy! The beach at Looe is sandy and the crab fishing from the harbour is fun for adults and children alike. The wilderness of Bodmin Moor awaits you. We are close to many National Trust properties and the famous Eden Project is only 24 miles away. Plymouth with its Historic Hoe, Naval Dockyard & the Barbican is 18 miles away. Fishing and watersports are available locally and the world famous St Mellion golf course is only 8 miles away and the Looe golf course 4 miles. There are some great restaurants locally, supermarkets and farmers markets to get your fresh food.

“Perfect little get away in a quiet, peaceful area”
I booked this cottage for a short break for myself, my husband and two dogs. We were greeted by Leah on arrival. The cottage was immacutely clean and had everything you would possibly need for a couple staying here. We had milk, biscuits, tea and coffee waiting and even a bar of doggy choc for my dogs. The field opposite the house was a perfect place to let the dogs have a run. nothing was any trouble. I couldn't work out how to use the cooker and the owner came straight over and showed me. We celebrated our anniversary while there, and the owners gave us wine and a card, which was a lovely gesture. The cottage isnt overlooked by anything other than countryside. The one and only downside is there is no pub nearby, but as we were still in lockdown so couldn't have gone inside a pub anyway, didn't really affect us at this time. We loved our relaxing stay and would definetely recommend it to other couples looking for a peaceful break.

“Great Staging Post”
Booked very much last minute. Lovely "one up / one down" cottage with a little sun trap outside to enjoy a cuppa in the morning or a well earned tipple in the evening. Looks and feels recently decorated and with all needed for a comfortable self catering holiday. Usefully close to Liskeard to catch a train down to Penzance or to Looe. Let the "train take the strain" if you don't fancy exploring by car. Owners very welcoming and have all the useful info to hand for exploring. In today's environment, Covid protocols w.r.t. cleaning and social distancing all reassuringly adhered to. Well worth a stay.

“A perfect stay”
A beautiful, homely cottage with great outdoor space! We really enjoyed the 5 acres of communal grounds - especially in the night under the starry sky. It was incredible! The cottage is well presented and cosy, with lovely extras such as games and books. Leah and her husband and dog were lovely and friendly, telling us all about local walks, and even her dog came over to say hello! The cottage was a perfect home away from home. Will definitely stay again! Thanks to both :)
