Description from owner

Description

Converted from an 18th century coaching inn, Olde Blue Bell Cottage is cosy, comfortable and full of character. It is located in the quiet village of Heversham. For a relaxing drink, there is a traditional pub just 5 minutes walk from the cottage, or to work up a thirst you can walk from the door up Heversham fell, and experience stunning views of the Lakeland hills and coastline.

The Cottage has 3 bedrooms, a double and 2 twin rooms. The bathroom is newly refurbished with a large bath and powerful shower, finished in natural ceramic tiles with contemporary chrome tap fittings. The downstairs comprises an kitchen-diner and separate lounge, where a mixture of stonework, wooden beams and natural wood has been used to give a relaxing yet rustic feel. A cast iron, coal effect fire makes the lounge a really cosy room in which to unwind after a day on the fells or touring the lakes, and full gas central heating can be thermostatically set to a temperature of your liking, ensuring the cottage is as warm or as cool as you like it. The lounge has a digital flat screen TV, DVD player, and a combined CD/radio, and there is also free wireless internet in the cottage.

The kitchen was hand crafted by a local joiner, and is equipped with a with a halogen hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. An oak style laminate wood flooring runs throughout. We keep the cupboards stocked with all the basic provisions you need to make holiday cooking a little easier, and a welcome tray with as much tea and coffee as you can drink will greet you from your journey. There is an enclosed courtyard garden for dining al fresco.

The cosiness of this cottage makes it ideal for couples, families and friends alike. There is a small play park for children in the nearby field, a pub in the village, and walks from the door. We also welcome dogs.

The village is ideally situated for site seeing or walking in both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Lake Windermere for example is 15 minutes by car to the southern most tip where you can catch a steamer for a relaxing journey around the lake. Or if you wish head directly into central lakes, Ambleside at the northern end of Lake Windermere is just 30 minutes away.
