GREAT EXPERIENCE, GREAT PLACE TO STAY
Just would like to thank Babette for her kind hospitality. We only stayed for 2 nights, but our experience was great and very accommodating. We arrived very late the 1st night, and even though she was asleep, we were able to get into the cottage and enjoy our first night. The location is great. Very clean, private and cozy. Everything you need for cooking is available. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to the Big Island. Thanks again! -- Dale, Toronto, July 2012

Thanks so much for sharing this space. Delightful! I wish we had more time to spend here, however we may return some day. Lovely and Comfy! -- L + A, Vancouver
We loved to be here at this lovely place almost at the end of the road. We would like to come here again to see you, and to rest in your pretty guesthouse. Thank you very very much for two beautiful days.
Brad and I couldn't have spent the new Year in a more lovely and peaceful setting. Many thanks for your kindness and creating this lovely ohana sanctuary. We look forward to our next visit on this side of the island.
Ines and Jens had a winderful time here, we found everything we needed, and loved the peaceful atmosphere of your fantastic cottage. Thank you Babette, for setting it up so nicely and also thanks for the good information about the area. We enjoyed a lovely guitar concert at Kalani on Christmas eve. We loved the snorkeling at the tidal pools, views of the lava flow, watching the huge surf along the coast, and walking along the amazing structures of the lavafields for hours.

Gracias and Mahalo for this time at your cozy cottage. We enjoyed the cogui (frogs) at night and waking up to sun light pouring in through the windows. We were relaxed by the rain falling outside- and we were absolutely awestruck by the stars here. This Oliana Guesthouse was the perfect location for our excursions to Volcanoes National Park, to Hilo (the botanical garden is gorgeous there), to visit Kalani down the road a for a relaxing cranio-sacral and lomi-lomi (massage) sessions, and more!
We highly recommend Yara Nui as a delicious, fresh, local and organic restaurant at South Point. Also, we were stunned at the magnificence of Green Sands Beach. We did realize this was a Hawaiian Homelands, so like all visits to sacred sites on Hawai'i this one welcomes/calls for deep respect.
From you Babette, and from locals, we have experienced a very warm welcome.
Aloha and abundance to you, N + K (from Austin, Texas)
P.S. The buddha presence made the abode all the more peaceful. Namaste!

Thank you so much for renting out your awesome vacation cottage!! We had an amazing week here in this tiny piece of Heaven.... The sound of the ocean and frogs every night was peaceful, as well as the full moon and tradewinds.... The black beach across the road was our favorite place - end of the road, hiking on lava, Kona mudpie milkshakes, good Thai food in Pahoa, tide pool snorkeling, warm ponds, etc. We'll definitely be back. Thank you again, your friends, J + S

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was clean, well-cared for and comfortable! Babette gave us advice but still left us to enjoy our privacy. The frogs, birds and geckos sang us to sleep each night. We feel in love with this area of the Big Island and ended up looking at real estate! Can't wait to call Babette our neighbor!

A simply wonderful stay in a lovely cottage. Manicured garden, attention to detail, and in a great location. The room was spotless, a nice comfy bed and the just exactly perfect shower. Babette is a charming hostess indeed.
The best place to stay in this area, walk to the Kehena Black sand beach.
No reason to search any more, this is the best value.

The guesthouse was very nice. I missed that it was only a studio, but we really didn't need more space. It would not suit a family, only solo or couple. This was a great place to eat breakfast and dinner, if you desire, and it worked fine as a base of operations for day trips. It is not centrally located. You probably wouldn't spend more than a day nearby. A place closer to Hilo or central Pahoa would be much more efficient. However it was a beautiful drive to and from our "home" each day. Read more

Babette was a fine hostess, with a clean charming cottage. I was greeted by beautiful flowers and large windows to the greenery outside. The beach was within a short walking distance plus, the lava trip was close and a fantastic experience. I was pleased to find restaurants closer then Pahoa when we didn't want to cook. Listening to the ocean at night we found most soothing. Enjoyable stay !!!
