Hale Lezarde was not damaged in the hurricane. We are now accepting bookings. Power has been restored in Leilani Estates. All roads are now open and and services are available in Pahoa Town but not in all of Lower Puna yet. Please keep this in mind as you plan your stay.

Leilani Estates Subdivision offers a community park about 2 miles from the house, with walking trails, basketball courts, a playground, and a picnic pavilion.
Hale Lezarde is located 5 miles from Pahoa Town with some of the best dining on the East side of the Big Island, as well as shopping, fuel and the Sunday Farmer's Market in Pahoa Town. The Maku'u Sunday Market a short drive from Pahoa Town is a wonderful event with food, entertainment and an assortment of merchandise to appeal to every kind of shopper. Swimming and snorkeling at the world famous Kapoho Tide Pools or a soak at Ahala Nui hot pond is a 15 minute drive away, or take the 10 minute drive to Kalapana where you will find Uncle Robert's awa bar , Kalapana Cafe and the Wednesday night market with its amazing food, crafts and entertainment.
Discover Volcanoes National Park and see Madame Pele in action as she continues to make new land for our beautiful Island. Visit the Lava Viewing Area the end of the road for a spectacular night view of the lava glowing as it flows down the pali.
Hilo Town is a short 30 mile drive away where you can enjoy the great bargains at the Hilo Market or walk along Hilo Bay and see the Banyan Drive and Japanese Garden. Just north of HIlo, you will find beautiful Akaka Falls with a paved walkway through the lush tropical forest.
Take a trip off the beaten path and discover the real Hawaii with a trip to Punau'lu's black sand beach where the Honu 'ea (Hawksbill turtles) come out on the beach to bask in the sun. A stop at the Shaka Bar, the southernmost bar in the U.S. is a great way to relax on the way back. Kick back at clothing optional Kehena Beach and enjoy the Drum Circle on Sunday night. Kalani Spa with yoga classes, massage and swimming pool is located about 15 minutes from Hale Lezarde.
Hale Lezarde is accessible by car and is on a paved road, although we recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle rental to get the most out of your island stay. Parking for 4 vehicles is available on the property with a two-car carport and gravel parking area for two additional vehicles.
