Description from owner

Description

Barn Coombe is a very attractive, 2-storey, stone-built apartment. The property is attached to a barn conversion, and is located in large private grounds with expansive countryside views. It is a perfect retreat for two people, or a couple with a dog.

There are numerous beautiful walks to explore nearby, whether it be country lanes and woodlands, or coastal footpaths. A short walk from the property, down the stream-lined valley, leads you to the hamlet of Bolingey with its popular 17th century pub, the Bolingey Inn, which offers excellent food and drink. The pub has been awarded the industry's Cask Marque standard for supplying excellent quality ale, and also offers traditional cornish cream teas (scones, jam and clotted cream) during the day.

The seaside town of Perranporth is just over a mile away and boasts pubs and restaurants to suit every taste, most of which are dog friendly. You will also find a variety of shops, surf hire outlets for the more adventurous, a boating lake and a beautiful championship links golf course. The jewel in the crown of the area is Perranporth's popular surfing beach, 3 1/2 kilometres of golden sands, with rock pools and caves to explore.

A 15-minute drive inland is the bustling town of Truro which is dominated by its magnificent cathedral and surrounded by interesting independent shops as well as retail chain stores. You can take a ferry cruise down the Truro River to the picturesque south coast sailing towns of Falmouth or St Mawes. Six miles from Perranporth is the lively north coast town of Newquay, and about 8 miles west are the Cornish mining heritage towns of Redruth and Camborne. A short 2-mile drive away is the large coastal village of St Agnes which has many art & craft shops to explore, several pubs and restaurants, and a beach. You can also walk from Perranporth to St Agnes along the stunning coastal footpath.

ACCOMMODATION: A spacious split-level entrance lobby is suitable for leaving shoes, coats, bikes, surf boards, etc. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor, with sliding glass French doors which open on to a small, paved area with a bistro table and chairs where guests can relax and enjoy a drink. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle, toilet, sink, vanity unit and shaving point. Upstairs comprises an open-plan kitchen, small dining area with seating for 4, and lounge area. There is a large garden area with a picnic table for guests' use.

“Peaceful relaxing break”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2022

The accommodation was fitted with everything needed for a self sufficient holiday and was linked to the owners beautiful barn conversion in the countryside, the only sound heard was that of the birds. Peaceful, relaxing location about 1.5miles from Perannporth beach. A tip, if walking to Perranporth use the road slightly up the hill signposted Perrancombe, it's a more picturesque quieter option than the main road . Perranporth is a lovely holiday destination.
