The Mount is a wonderful place for a holiday in the Lakes - the lake is 5 minutes away, and a lovely place for walks, bike-rides, canoeing and sailing. Keswick is a gentle 20 minutes walk away (over a river and along a footpath with stunning views of the mountains), and full of cafes, shops and restaurants.

What we love about The Mount is that all the bedrooms have lovely views or the Lake or mountains, or both! The house has a warming fire in the lounge and we have decorated it with art from London to Brighton, Fiji to South Africa.

“A wonderfully relaxing break”

My husband and I only stayed at the B&B for one night for a last minute getaway from the city, and couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot. Clive, Caroline and their two children were wonderful hosts; from offering cake and tea from the moment we entered, to suggesting the best places to eat, and even helping us plan our walk for the following day. The Mount is a the perfect place to escape from the city. A beautiful property, breathtaking scenery and A wonderful family. We will definitely be back!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Caroline (the owner) a message.

If Caroline (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
