Description
The Beeches is fabulous spacious house in the small village of Portinscale on the outskirts of Keswick with a large garden, patio and driveway parking. Keswick is only a 20 minute walk away across a country footpath or take a trip across Derwentwater on the launch. Very comfortable, equipped to a high standard for whatever weather awaits you. Large garden surrounded by a high beech hedge with a lovely patio area outside the kitchen window looking towards Skiddaw and surrounding fells. Rear porch for wet & muddy boots. Smart TV plus lots of games and toys. Numerous walks straight from the doorstep, up to the Newlands Valley, Winlatter Forest or into Keswick and beyond.
Easy parking on the drive for 2 cars and 3 at a push! Garage can be used to store bikes.
Fishing trips on Derwentwater can be arranged with the owner.

“Simply the best”
Wonderful! A beautiful 20 min walk from Keswick, which proved restorative to my overworked body and mind! Beautiful tiered garden. Lovely, atmospheric house. Clean and beautifully decorated. This property exceeded my expectations by some margin!

“Perfect location with Stunning views”
Location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the surrounding area without having to travel too far out. we did all that and more. The views from the bedroom window was breath-taking. everything is literally on the doorstep (get some good walking shoes) The Beeches is a very attractive full of character homely property with lots of quirkiness and fine attention to detail which we loved. what more can I say clean/close to town/complete with everything/large layout/comfortable, and cant wait to go back because we have so much more to see and do. So happy to have met the owners George and Judy too. very friendly accommodating owners. thank you for a lovely stay.

“A week in Portinscale”
The Beeches was described as a cottage, but don't expect a quaint dwelling nestling in a valley as,in fact, it's a 3 bedroomed semi in a small housing estate. That said, The Beeches is a comfortable, warm and well appointed house. A small inconvenience was that to obtain sufficient hot water for a bath we had to allow it to run very slowly. It took some time! A second issue was the lack of a GPS signal. There was no landline phone in the house so when we had a small emergency with our car the only way of getting the breakdown service was to Whatsapp our daughter in Northampton who then arranged it for us. Getting work done on the car was not easy as most of the local garages were too busy. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay. The house was comfortable and the location good for exploring the central Lakes.

Response from the owner We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Beeches, which sits on a large corner plot with fabulous views, especially as you managed to get a signal on your phone in Portinscale when you were lost in the village on arrival and rang me to give you directions. Unfortunately you didn't contact us again, though our various contact details are in the welcome file and being local, if you had contacted me, I could have arranged recovery/repair for your car within the hour! Our welcome file gives full instructions regarding the house but we would urge guests to contact us directly should they have any queries as we have been helpful and accommodating owners for 15 years.

“Fantastic location for all of the lake district. Beeches caters for all, it has everything we wished for and more.”
Judy and George made our stay a memorable one, they welcomed us with a card and local cake on arrival. Although we never met them personally, we had communications from them and I was confident that if I needed anything they would be there for me. The Accommodation is absolutely fantastic, cosy and warm, lots of interesting books and information about the lakes and local area. All rooms are very clean and splendid in decor, with lots of lovely quirky features.This accommodation has been loved and maintained. Idea for barbecues, beautiful garden, great outside seating area. Beds are very comfortable like home from home. Kitchen is fantastic it has everything you will need to make a christmas dinner through to cheese on toast. Really it is fantastic !! Lots of access to walks for all types of hikers, local adventure pursuits in the village. If you don't want to cook, 200m away is the chalet cafe bar for good food. Seriously this is probably the finest you will find on the market. I will be back soon and it will be very soon. Judy and George if you read this! please keep doing what you're doing, maybe get a few more houses and do the same. Book this accommodation, promise you no regrets.
