Cabin in Kern River Valley with views of the lake and mountains. Six minutes from Kernville, ten minutes from Lake Isabella. Close to the river and lake for fishing, rafting, kayaking, boating. Short drive to the redwoods, and the Trail of 100 Giants. Brewery, restaurants, antique shops and museum in Kernville. Check with Kernville Chamber of Commerce for events that are happening all year long.

Response from the owner The comments in this review were unfounded or untrue. These guests were sore because they busted the blinds and we asked them to pay for the damages. The cabin was clean when they arrived, but being out in nature, bugs come in sometimes, and very rarely scorpions. There were two cans of bug spray in the closet. There was no dust when they arrived, but with the windows open, after a few days it starts to get dusty again. There was no metal fence on the door, only a screen to keep the dogs from scratching on it. There was no requirement to take their garbage with them, only a request that states it is OK if you don't take it. The mirror only could have fell if someone knocked against it. We found the mirror on the floor under where the mounting hooks were securely on the wall. They were mad because we asked them to pay for the blinds that they broke. We went out of our way to make the guests feel comfortable, sorry they had to make up things to attack us for. Would not rent to these people again.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
