Description

Situated on a small beef farm the cottage is a self contained annex to our farmhouse. It is set off the road in a picturesque part of the north Pennines just 4 miles from the small town of Haltwhistle which has shops, pubs, tea rooms, open air swimming pool and bus and train links to Newcastle and Carlisle. The cottage is centrally heated from a multi-fuel stove (we provide the fuel) and has a sitting/dining room with beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace leading off to a small fully equipped kitchen. You can watch TV or DVD, listen to CDs or enjoy the many books and games in the bookcase.Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, both have en-suite shower rooms and lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is a folding single bed available and travel cot and highchair can be provided. All bedding and towels are provided.Outside there is a large garden with lawns and flower beds ideal for relaxing or having a game of football! Garden chairs, picnic table and BBQ are also available. There are plenty of footpaths nearby with the south tyne trail , the picturesque Lambley Viaduct and the South Tyne river just a short drive away. A ten minute drive will take you to Hadrian's Wall with it's museums, forts and walks in stunning landscapes. Go in the opposite direction into the north Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty to Alston the country's highest market town with it's quaint shops and steam railway or on to the Lake District and the coast.

Reviewed 19 Apr 2021

Accommodation excellent, beds very comfortable, homemade shortbread on arrival, very quiet surroundings even though the accommodation is on a working farm, good base to go sight seeing, would recommend to anyone thinking of booking. I will definitely book again.
