Description
Fully renovated, 3-bedroom, lakeland slate, semi-detached cottage. A cosy and comfortable bolt-hole for a maximum of four adults (or a family of five with up to three younger children - please contact owner for further details before booking). Peacefully situated amongst beautiful south lakeland countryside, secluded and private, yet only 20 minutes walk to the popular village of Hawkshead with many facilities including supermarket, deli, post office, shops, pubs / restaurants and public transport. Accessed along a quiet, privately owned, narrow, tarmac roadway, with a single lock-up garage (useful for bike storage) and shared drive providing car parking for 1 motor vehicle. The level, south-facing, lawned garden is surrounded by fields, hedges and National Trust woodland, safely fenced off from and raised above the adjacent tarmac roadway . Great for kids, keen walkers and cyclists, and those interested in nature and wild-life.

“Home away from home”
We stayed in Gillbank Cottage back in June and had a wonderful time. The hosts brought a very personal touch to the place and could not have been more friendly and helpful in the build up to (and during) our stay. The cottage itself is very tasteful in its decor, well equipped and wonderfully cosy. In addition, it has a lovely garden that enables you to enjoy its peaceful and beautiful location. It is very well-situated for exploring the Lake District. We particularly enjoyed its proximity to Hawkshead and the fact that you could walk across beautiful country paths to reach the village, its pubs, shops and ice-cream shop, which was a huge hit with the kids! In short, we loved our stay in the cottage and look forward to returning!

“Lovely cottage in the country with all the comforts of your own home”
Our stay at Gillbank was excellent, everything was thought of and the cottage truly is lovely and perfectly clean. The contact with owner Geoff before and during our holiday was great, if we had questions, he answered them almost immediately. No need to bring towels, cleaning products, toiletpaper, bin bags or things like that, evertything is in the cottage, there to use by all the guests. Wifi connection and modern equipment is great. We loved the cottage and will visit again if we're in the Lake District.
