“Glamping in a Glade”
We had a wonderful week staying in the ‘small but perfectly formed’ shepherds hut in the grounds of Massington Lodge, Suzanne & Danny were very warm and friendly and we had a lovely (socially distanced) chat as we were unpacking; they gave us lots of helpful tips on the best breakfast/Scotch eggs/ice cream in Ledbury, as well as good walks and secret parking tips . We loved the homemade cakes (in tiny teacups - sweet!) in the welcome basket ❤️ and the local apple juice was much appreciated too. The small but well-appointed galley kitchen has a 3-ring gas stove/grill/oven, pans/plates/cutlery, and a pull down table. I didn’t brave the oven but we managed some lovely stews . I liked the built in double bed and it was nice having a window next to the bed so you can enjoy birdsong and a gentle breeze with your cosy lie-in. We really enjoyed the fire pit too - gin & applejuice + campfire + nature, bliss!! Having never used a caravan toilet before, i was a little surprised by the ‘arrangements’ initially but once Suzanne explained how it worked it was easy to get the hang of. Unfortunately, i had to leave a day early due to work, but Danny very kindly took Phil’s bag to the station for him when he left (they’re lovely people, and i think if it wasn’t for COVID & social distancing he’d have given Phil a lift too but we were all being careful) would recommend (but please don’t book the week we want )
