Description

Squirrels Drey Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion completed in 2013, split over three levels there is a lovely feeling of space and light, overlooking our own Birdwatching tarn from the back and farmers fields and local hills to the front, The cottage sleeps four people and has been renovated to the highest standards. .On the ground floor Squirrels Drey has a double bedroom with king size bed, from here a patio door leads out to a private yard behind the cottage which is a real sun trap. A twin bedroom with bunk beds and bathroom with over bath shower, WC, baisin and heated towel rail. On the first floor is a open plan, very light and airy seating area with TV (built in DVD player and free view channels) Dining area with solid wood table and 4 leather chairs and galley style kitchen, the kitchen has everything you would expect and more, with a large fridge and freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, and drawers full of utensils. Above here is a large mezzanine area providing a quiet seating area, from here you can look our of the skylight windows to our beautiful country side, local fells and Skiddaw.

We offer free Wi-Fi connection throughout the whole cottage, laundry room and games room.

The property also has a large under stairs cupboard with ironing facilities, boot racks, hoover etc. This cottage has a shared laundry room with our other cottages which has washing and drying facilities, as well as additional freezer storage and a computer with internet access can also be used here.

Next to Squirrels Drey is our games room, offering a pool table, free juke box and darts board on the first floor and a X Box 360, table football and seating area upstairs.

Opposite the laundry room we have a fully inclosed children's play area with a large climbing frame with swings, slide and climbing wall and a large grassed area with football net.

The beautiful market town of Cockermouth is a short 5miles drive from our cottages, here you will find an excellent choice of small independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Guests staying in our cottages all have complimentary use of our membership at the award winning Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, this includes use of the 16m infinity swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms, sauna, gym and children's pool. You could turn this into a full spa experience by booking a treatment and having some food in the beautiful bistro. (this is not included in the passes but a discount on the price is offered) Please note, children 16 yrs old and under are only allowed to use the pool between 8.30 to 10.30am and 4.30 to 6.30pm (sundays 2.30 to 6.30pm).

We can also offer money off vouchers for shows at the Theatre By The Lake at Keswick, please look at there website to see what is showing during your stay. 

Squirrels drey is one of four holiday cottages located on a family run 'working' farm with more than 200 acres of land; the farm is a bird watchers paradise with a twelve man bird watching hide and tarn. We have our own shetland ponies and there are usually sheep or cattle in our fields. We also have a Certificated Camping and Caravan Club site.

“Stay on a working farm.”

We have just returned from Linskeldfield Farm which is set in a lovely part of Cumbria. You are sent upto the minute details for on arrival and departure of your stay but apart from that you feel you are staying at an extremely friendly and free to roam farm. It is very welcoming and safe for children to explore the land around and to get up close to the amazing mix of differing animals. There is a mix of stays to cater for all types of holiday from camping to motor homes to cottages which are well served with every utensils required. We cannot praise this farm and family enough, even has a farm shop to save having to venture far, oh and I forgot amazing views, but this is the Lake District.

How do damage deposits work?
