“Magnificent Mountain Breeze”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2013

Spent the last two weeks of august in the mountains - this was our 4th or 5th stay in Mountain Breeze. We have been vacationing in Blowing Rock for over 30 years and have stayed in a variety of homes on appalachian Ski Mountain. Mountain Breeze is our favorite - it is a beautiful home, the views are incomparable, it is comfortably furnished and has everything you need to feel at home. It is only minutes away from Boone and Blowing Rock, yet it feels like you are in a world of your own. It has a wood burning fireplace which is great on cool evenings. Sometimes, when the fog settles low in the valleys, it feels like you are looking down on the clouds - the closest thing to heaven you can imagine.

“Spectacular sunrises!”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2012

We shared our stay at Mountain Breeze with other family members & it worked great b/c of the bathroom arrangements. The kitchen was a bit small, but the flow of the dining/living space was great. Everybody could be together even when not doing the same activity. The only thing that was a bit difficult was the heating system. We had a few cold nights (even in October)& we had difficulty operating the system. A service call was made; the company responded promptly & the technician very helpful. We would definitely consider this property again.

Great view and location for skiing at appalachian Ski Mountain.

“A Perfect Stay”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2010

The house was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of room with private suites for all 3 couples. The views were spectacular. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room; plenty of room to cook and eat in; great fireplace; TVs everywhere; well equipped kitchen; very reasonably priced. We have rented other houses before but this may be the best value yet.

“Great Holiday”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2009

We had a good experience with Jenkins Realtors, Inc. They were responsive to both email and phone inquiries. Check-in and Check-out were quick and easy. The home provided plenty of room for our family get together. It allowed for separation of three families. Each family had their corner of the house with a full bath. We "ate in" most of the time and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals. We all enjoyed watching football in front of the fire in the main living area. TVs in all the bedrooms and downstairs allowed those that were not interested in group activities to do their "own thing". Adjusting the heat was a bit challenging as it never seemed to be warm downstairs. However, it is important to note that each bathroom had it's own heating unit and nobody was ever cold. The location was convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock. The house is just above Applachian Ski Resort so expect a steep curving drive to the house. I do not think the road is State maintained so be prepared in the winter with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and chains. Parking is somewhat limited with room for three cars just off the road. If you are planning on having a fire stop to purchase wood and a starter log before heading up the mountain. The views are beautiful and you can watch the sunrise from the bedrooms or the outside decks.

“A charming, elegant mountain retreat”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2009

We just spent a full month at Mountain Breeze, on Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. This was our fourth stay in this beautiful home. The views are spectacular with 2 large decks overlooking the Ski slopes and Blue Ridge Mountains - you can see forever. The home is large, immaculate, comfortable and well equiped. There is a beautiful stone fireplace and a large jacuzzi tub as special enhancements. Coming from Miami, it was fun to experience the full flavor of a winter wonderland with single digit temperatures, the largest snowfall in 13 years and ice coatings on all the trees. Certainly spring and fall are equally, or even more beautiful and easier to negotiate unless you are there specifically to ski. The home is warm, cozy and family friendly. I reccommend it highly for a wonderful retreat in a magnificent setting.

“Leaky experience”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2008

This house haed a major leak form the master bath to the bedroom below and that room smelled greatly of mold. Based upon the condition of the baseboards in the master bath and the ceiling in the bedroom below this had been an ongoing issue and there is no way we were the first tennants to report this. It was disappointing to me that this issue had not been resolved and the house continued to be offered for rent.

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. From our records and your survey sheet I see that the leak was reported and repaired during your stay. We do our best to catch things before they happen and appreciate our guests understanding when these types of issues arise.
