“Excellent place to chill”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2013

We had a great time. Close to all things on the Red Road. From the Sixty's Hippie vibe of Kehena Beach, To the natural wonders along the Red Road, Tide Pools, Volcanic heated pool, Lava Flow remains and some really hip folks we met along the way.If your conservative go with an open mind, You just might be enlighten. If your liberal, All I can is home. Can't wait until my next visit to the area. We will surely contact Mark and Richard again

Response from the owner Mahalo for the review Victor and Alicia, Glad you both enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again. Aloha Mark & Richard

“A perfect way to see Hawaii's least-visited corner”

Clean and extremely comfortable, with friendly owners located next door to help with whatever needs you may have. My wife and I stayed here for a week. We're both 30-years-old and were looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation. We found both here. Due to it's remote location, travel to parts of the island require a bit more driving, but the driving is exceptionally beautiful through this area... and the area itself has plenty to keep you busy. It's in the heart of the volcanic region, so don't expect white sand beaches, but lava tubes, hikes, and a laid-back vibe are plentiful.

Response from the owner Aloha Brian and Gina, It was nice meeting you both. Thanks for the great review and for staying with us. Hope we see you again. Mahalo Richard Valdez

“A peaceful vacation on the eastern side of the Island.”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2013

We stayed at this lovely house for nine days and we couldn't choose a better place for our holidays. It has a comfortable bedroom, a nice living room and a well equipted kitchen. We loved the spatious balcony/porch where we always had a breakfast. There were some lovely flowers blossoming just in front at the time of our stay. The house has a nice location - this side of the island is really peaceful but still has interesting places to go and explore (don't miss the volcano NP, black sandy beach just few minutes away, warm springwater pool, local market on wedesdays and so much more). You can explore the other side of the island from here as well. It only takes about two hours to the Kona if you take the Saddle road (brand new). There are some great historic places to visit and beaches to try out but that side of the island is much more crowded and it is nice to retourn to the peaceful and green side in the evening. All in all - we would definitely come again.

Response from the owner Aloha Nina and Gasper, Thanks for staying with us. You two are the first guests from Slovenia that we have had. We were happy to see guests from your part of the world coming here to Hawaii. We appreciate your review and hope to see again. Regards and Mahalo Richard Valdez
