Description

This is a true one-bedroom unit, not a small studio unit that is (often) described as a one-bedroom unit.

This unit at Colony One, Sea Mountain, on the Big Island, (Hawaii Island), has a king-size bed in the bedroom with a ceiling fan on the lower level and the living room, dining and kitchen on the upper level. There are great views of the sunrise from the lanai, from where you can also hear and watch the ocean. Punalu'u black sand beach is a 15-minute walk from the front door.

The living room contains a queen-size sleeper sofa that comfortably sleeps an additional two people. It has an airy vaulted ceiling with a ceiling fan. The living room has a 40"' flat-screen cable TV. The fully-equipped and recently remodeled kitchen contains a dishwasher and a small clothes washer and dryer for your convenience. (Large loads can be washed in the community coin operated laundry)

No Shampoo provided, No VCR, in addition to the dryer there is a drying rack which can be used inside the condo—not on the lanai.

Rentals are professionally handled through a local agent.

There is upgraded WIFI

House rules will be sent to you when you make a reservation. Of note, guests must allow professional pest control personnel to come into the condo when requested or a significant fine will be levied against the guest. It is imperative that all units be treated at the same time to ensure an effective treatment. (This does not happen often.)

Getting around

One could possibly use the county wide bus service, but it has long distances between stops and takes hours to get to locations. Also, carrying luggage on the bus and then walking up to a half mile from the stop to our condo is not fun. I strongly recommend renting a car for your stay. Of note, there are speed traps on the belt highway close to Ocean View and all the way through Waiohino and Naalehu, so make sure that you stay close to the 25 mph when it is posted. Also, on the way from Naalehu to the condo, there are speed traps along that highway, also.
