Description

This cozy log cabin is located on the Swan River nestled between the Swan Mountain Range and Mission Mountain Wilderness at mile post 42 on MT Hwy 83. It has a full furnished kitchen and propane fireplace along with 1092 square feet of living space. There are 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen) and the third is the loft with 2 single beds. This area is great for younger children since you cannot stand up fully in the loft. You can enjoy beautiful views, a BBQ or camp fire right out your front door with plenty of space for just a couple or a large family. Hiking trails and lakes are nearby and if your interested in a day trip, Glacier National Park is100 miles away. This is a perfect location for family reunions, weddings, hunting parties, etc. when combining your reservation with our other cabins, camp sites, R.V. spots, river site and community hall reservations. Swan Valley Cafe located across the highway is available for event catering as well. Missoula and Kalispell airports are both about an hour drive away.

The cabin was comfortable and the people that we dealt with were helpful. I just wish it would have been located further away from the busy road.

Response from the owner We wished it would be too. We are in the process of planting some trees to help reduce the noise. The convenience of not having to travel rough dusty roads to get even more remote does have its advantage though. We are glad you felt comfortable and it had great value for you. We do have a quieter cabin that is cozy for 2 next time you'd like to visit the area. Thank you for your response.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. We are continually improving the property and really appreciate seeing things through your eyes. We have removed those two vehicles and are working on the manual you suggested. The stairs to the loft has a hinge to pull it up so you can block young children from climbing into the loft. Being remote can be both an advantage and disadvantage; for example, the near proximity of the highway is great during our harsh winters and ideal for people pulling boats or snowmobiles. We are planting some new trees to help block the road noise. We live between two wilderness areas with many outdoor activities involving trails, rivers, lakes and wildlife. We think of the amenities here as to bring the conveniences of home into a camping experience; although stores, restaurants, bars, museum, and public library with playground are all within 5 minutes and either Missoula or Kalispell can be reached in about an hour. Seeley Lake (more touristy) has great little shops, a golf course and several restaurants just 27 miles away. Stepping outside this cabin to a cozy fire ring and gorgeous view of the mountains with the Swan River to the back while taking in the amazing scent of the forest is sweet and memorable.
