Description

Crumplehorn Cottage No1 is our cosy cottage for two, with wooden beamed ceilings, a stable door, sash windows, Cornish stone fireplace, a sun trap patio, and a pretty garden.

Built on the level Crumplehorn Cottage No1 is within easy walking distance of the colourful harbour, beach, shops, restaurants, Inns, and cafes of Polperro.

Crumplehorn Cottage No1 is one of our three white washed 'old world' cottages having been tastefully modernised and facing due south. Enjoying maximum sunshine in summer and winter, this pretty cottage dates back to the early 1700's.

Crumplehorn Cottage No1 is a romantic hideaway full of character, with a lounge, kitchen/dining room downstairs, and a quaint staircase leading to a double bedroom with second T.V, en-suite bathroom with a large, new walk-in shower. This traditional Cornish cottage is fully equipped with a full size flat screen plasma TV, DVD player, cooker, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment, books, games and a selection of DVDs to watch.

Antiques and curios are thoughtfully placed throughout to compliment the cottage.

We are AA COVID Accredited - and follow their strict cleaning protocols.

All of our cottages are inspected and approved by QIC (Quality in Cornwall) and we hold SECTA's Green Acorn Award for sustainability.

FREE Wi-Fi for accessing e-mails and social media. (The signal in the resort can vary at certain times of the day).

On site private parking is provided for your car (A MUST in Polperro, where parking is at a premium, and very expensive if you rent a cottage without its own parking). This pretty cottage is heated during the colder months by night storage heaters for a cosy stay.

Getting around

There is a great bus service running between the resorts of Polperro and Looe. It serves all of the nearby towns and villages, and also Plymouth in south east Devon - Where you can enjoy a day at The Barbican and the National Marine Aquarium.

Interaction with guest

The owners live locally and are just a phone call away - Should you require any help or advice during your stay. They also provide a helpful Information Folder at the property for your use. We are cleaning thoroughly and implementing great protocols which comply with Government guidelines - For your peace of mind, that you will arrive at a lovely, clean property for your holiday. Check-in is from 3 pm, check out is at 9 am.

“spot on”

Location is ideal. Bus stop just over the road. Close to main drag and harbour. Plenty of eating places and pubs. Great coastal walks to Talland bay and on to Looe. Also to Polruan and ferry to Fowey.

“Cosy cottage for 2 people with the benefit of a parking space”

Booked 1 crumplehorn cottages as it had the advantage of a car park space and ideal for 2 people. It did not disappoint, as we used it for a base to sleep and shower unless it rained when we stayed in. We found the cottage was well equipped for 2 people. Wifi was perfect till the last 24 hours when for some reason it went off. Possibly work being done in the area and as it was our last day we coped without it. However please note it’s not strong enough for streaming purposes and although this is noted in the documentation in the cottage but not in the online advert. The only other constructive comment I would like to suggest is that an additional couple of hooks in the bathroom would be useful to hang towels on. Or it’s necessary to use the clothes maiden in the bedroom which we didn’t find ideal. The shower was one of the best electric showers I’ve ever used and it was a walk in shower with plenty of space. There is the Crumplehorn pub within 50 metres where you can buy meals etc. There are also numerous eating establishments in Polperro approximately 10 minutes walk downhill from the cottage many of which have fresh locally caught fish on the menu. Also immediately opposite the cottage is the bus stop where you can catch the bus to Looe amongtall other places
