The Byre cottage is one of three cottages in a u-shaped farm steading conversion in the Highlands of Scotland. It's rural but situated close enough to Inverness and Nairn to enjoy town life too. After a days' exploring return to the Byre to relax and unwind.

The Byre sleeps 2-4 and provides comfortable accommodation and an ideal location to tour the Highlands - Loch Ness, Aviemore & the Cairngorm Mountains, Dolphin Spotting, superb golf, Inverness (10 miles) and Nairn (6 miles). Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Fort George nearby.

The Byre cottage is next door to the Barn cottage and the Bothy cottage at Balblair Self Catering Cottages.

On the ground level, there is an open plan kitchen, dining area and living room, double bedroom and family bathroom with shower (over bath). There is a cast iron spiral staircase in the living room leading up to a twin gallery bedroom and separate toilet and sink. Heating is provided by storage heaters in the living area, kitchen, and bedrooms. The bathroom has underfloor heating and a towel rail.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
