“Lovely Cabin in the Woods!! ”
Yancey Palace was a dream come true! A beautiful cabin nestled in the mountains. Upon arriving it looked exactly the photos! The kitchen was modern but still had a few vintage details- a charming wood stove complete with cast iron cookware, a cute hutch where glasses were held. It was lovely! The bedrooms were cozy and well heated. The living room was a great place for family gatherings. And the LAND!! All the land! We saw plenty of deer as we went exploring all around. Yancey Palace was the perfect getaway for our family! We are a family of 5 (3 kids ages 13,16,19) and they all had a blast! Cell networks and WiFi are a little sketchy, download a WiFi calling app before you get too far away, also if you have Netflix or something, download your movies. Also, bring some games if coming with Family! We had a blast playing cards and board games- really helped us pass the time. Get your groceries before getting there as well, you really won’t want to leave :-) . The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and dishes but Paper plates, etc will save you the trouble of washing dishes. It was a LOVELY getaway and beautiful, cozy cabin and we’ll definitely be back!
Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed your visit and hope you will come visit us again Rick & Annette
“Rustic Mountain Heaven”
Nice location, short drive off of interstate and then easy winding drive to the cabin and we found a beautiful "back way" drive into Burnsville worth taking. The only thing wrong with our stay at this adorable cabin was that it wasn't long enough! Owners were very pleasant to work with. Planning on booking future stays to introduce more friends and family to this restful bit of creation.
Response from the owner Pamela, thank you for your kind words and taking the time to give us your thoughts. Look forward to having your family again in the future. Rick & Annette
“Clean, Nostalgic, Quaint, Gorgeous Property, Homey”
I brought my 2 kids here mid February. I have a son 11 and daughter 14. When we walked in late at night all lights were on and heaters warming cabin. Was so inviting and the cleanest rental home I have ever stayed in. Was small but perfect for our needs. There was a lot of snow and ice the 5 days we were there. Would have loved to hike up the hill behind the cabin but too icey and cold. The little brook behind the cabin captivated my son with it partially frozen. Great place for our German Shepherd to run. She ran all over without a care in the world and no worries of traffic because we were at the top of the mountain and never saw cars. Bringing my kids back in August 2015 but dates are taken. Very sad we cannot return here. Everything was close. We went to Biltmore, Linville Caverns, skiing, gem mining all within 30 min or less.Great quiet location lots ofland and no neighbors.
Response from the owner Janelle, thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us. So sorry we could not accomodate you on your return visit. Hope that you and family can visit again sometime and again appreciate your taking the time to let us know that your stay worked well for you. Rick & Annette
“Exactly what you want in a cabin rental!”
A beautiful place! A nice hill to walk up in the back and see those Blue Ridge Mountains! Chairs on the back porch and front porch for reading and relaxing. Very clean. Modern appliances, a nice kitchen and living room. The owners will give you very good directions to find the place and are very nice! I would recommend this place for people of all ages and types -- outdoorsy or not, you will love it! Thank you!
Response from the owner Ariel, Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you were pleased with the cabin. Sorry the wet weather interrupted your plans. Please come back and stay with us again. Rick and Annette King
“Excellent place to unwind...”
I stayed here with my two children's (ages 8 and 10) and two dogs. We all had a wonderful time exploring the area and relaxing. It was a real treat to be able to sit on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful view. The cabin is well stocked with supplies. Rick and annette (the owners) are a pleasure to rent from and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back again!
Response from the owner We are glad you and the children enjoyed your stay! Come again! Thanks for the review! Rick and Annette
“Relaxing and Fun Getaway”
Sitting on the back porch, listening to the babbling brook, watching the butterflies in the field, and looking at the mountain views was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Will definitely stay here again! *Friendly and accommodating owners. *Well equipped rental.
