“Home from home”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2013

I think this is one of the nicest self catering properties we have stayed in. Everything we needed was there, along with things we didn't even know we needed!! It was extremely comfortable and just a short walk from the town centre. The wine, cake and chocolates left for us were much appreciated, such a nice touch. I recommend this property to anyone, also take away fish and chips from Carlos.

Response from the owner Thank you for your lovely review! Yes, we love Carlos fish and chips too. All the best, Louise and Viv.

“A lovely house in a beautiful area”

Reviewed 17 May 2013

A very welcoming and well equipped house. It is close to the centre of alnwick and the beautiful Northumbrian countryside and coastline are easily accessible.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to submit such a nice review. All the best for the rest of the summer. Kind regards Louise and Viv.

“fabulous”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2013

The owners, viv and Louise were very helpful with any questions we had during booking our break, they provided all the information we required including maps to ensure we had no problem finding the cottage. We were given a time that we could arrive at the cottage but were informed the day before that we were welcome to arrive anytime due to there being no-one in the cottage before us, which was great as we arrived in snow blizzards. The house is not your usual basic rental property, it has been finished to a lovely standard and is a home from home, I cannot explain how lovely and cosy it is, and the beds are the com fiest! There is everything you can think of in the house down to the smallest things and the welcome package of wine, chocolate and biscuits was a lovely thought. The house is central to alnwick town, which is only a five minute walk to the centre, where there are plenty of quaint shops, including Barter Books, we also took the children to the playhouse theatre to see aladdin, which was thoroughly enjoyable and nice to be able to walk there and back on an evening! We visited Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne and Holy Island during our stay which were both a short driving distance from alnwick. This cottage has no negatives whatsoever, it was a truly enjoyable break made even better by having such a lovely place to go back and relax in at the end of each busy day. Would recommend and will definitely be returning!

Response from the owner Dear Thompson Family, Thank you so much for this wonderful review of Peaseblossom House. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay - and in the snow! Best wishes, Viv & Louise

“Home from Home”

We enjoyed an excellent weekend in this comfortable and well-appointed house. The welcome basket in the hall set the tone for the whole property which provided everything we needed for our stay. There are many thoughtful touches - fresh flowers, elegant decor, as well as the essentials of comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and a well equipped kitchen. The house is only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre and the coast and country of Northumberland are a short car journey away. We had no trouble parking outside the house. It was a pleasure to deal with Viv via email; she answered very quickly and gave lots of helpful information to make this a perfect weekend break. We shall be back!

“Home from home!”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

Peaseblossom House is a real home from home. Louise and Viv have put so much thought into making the cottage welcoming and comfortable that you're free to enjoy your holiday knowing you have somewhere great to return to at the end of each busy day. Alnwick is a superb base for a holiday; close to the wonderful beaches, surrounded by beautiful countryside and within reach of great cities such as Edinburgh and Newcastle. Highly recommended!

“Welcoming and comfortable house in a great location”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2012

We had a very nice time in alnwick. There is lots to do and Peaseblossom House was perfectly situated to walk into town to the Castle, Gardens and many lovely restaurants. The House had everything we needed and was nicely presented and we hope to return again.

“Comfortable and well appointed”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2012

House was clean and comfortable with lots of facilities and home comforts eg dishwasher, central heating, dvd player and childrens books and games. Parking outside the door and within walking distance of shops and castle. Is situated very close to a church clock which chimes every 15 minutes night and day. It took us a couple of days to get used to it!

“Fantastic accommodation, will definitely be back!”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2012

From the moment we opened the front door to discover a gift basket of wine, chocolate and biscuits and found fresh flowers in the dining kitchen we knew this was going to be a home from home. There were lots of other additions to make you feel at home from fresh milk in the fridge to dishwasher tablets and tea towels which you don't normally find in self catering accommodation. The beds were very comfortable with our 9 year old son saying his was better than the one at home. Being so close to the town centre was great too, only a few minutes walk from shops, supermarket and the Castle and Gardens was so convenient. This was our first visit to Northumberland and we will definitely be returning again. There is so much to see and do a week wasn't long enough. Thankyou Louise and Viv for a wonderful holiday.

“High quality and homely accommodation”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2012

A spacious and very comfortable, cosy house with lots of thoughtful touches. Very convenient for the town centre shops and eating and drinking places. The local pub is a few metres away and will be appreciated by real ale drinkers! Lots to do and see in the area. We have stayed here a number of times and will return as there are still things we want to see. Alnwick Castle and gardens are well worth a visit and the area is excellent for walking and wildlife.
