“A Mountain Dream”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

My husband and I along with our two children ages 9 ad 11 recently stayed in a Mountain Dream. I am always a little hesitant to stay away from home but as soon as we opened the front door I breathed a sigh of relief - this was a cabin well kept and very clean! Directions to the cabin and surrounding areas were well thought of and convenient to us. The hot tub was super clean, easy to operate and hot just the way we like it. We enjoyed a beautiful walk to a near by water fall and my son especially enjoyed the game room located at the from of the park. The fully equipped kitchen was perfect as well as washer and dryer. Clean towels, sheets and extras were neatly awaiting us providing a stress free stay. Thank you for taking such pride in your cabins! We will visit often!

Response from the owner Thanks for staying with us, for choosing our cabin and for sharing your experience here !

“Perfect getaway”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2014

Is this edited version ok to put on the website? We just had the most relaxing time at Mountain Dream Cabins. We went with very little expectation as this was our first mountain getaway after moving to Charlotte 7 months ago. We absolutely loved it. The cabins are so you have a lot of privacy and we like that a lot. It was great to unwind and disconnect from the world for a short time. Our two girls loved the spiral staircase and being in their own neat space upstairs. Thanks so much! So glad we found your cabins!! The alegria family Charlotte, NC

Response from the owner Thanks so much for choosing our cabin, we aim to exceed expectations! I'm glad we did with you! Thanks again and come see us again sometime!

“Great Cabin! Great Owners!”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2014

As nice is it is to rent a cabin, we tried to get out of our rental. Our friends, who were paying 1/2 cancelled on us. Jill, the cabin owner, went out of her way to find someone else to rent the cabin, but no one did. Sooo, we decided just to go w/o our friends and we are so very glad we did!! What a great location! It's in a secluded area, but you can get to the friendly town of Spruce Pine in 15 mins. This cozy little cabin was very clean & had everything we needed from extra blankets to a closet shelf full of games. Jill included all kinds of helpful advice in our confirmation packet. We took her advice on a great restaurant, the Paradise Grill (no longer open for breakfast). It's owned by a Christian family that sells handmade crafts as a way to raise money for the people of Guatemala. The food was incredible; cooked with love. So, a trip that seemed doomed in the beginning ended up being a great success! Jill - Thanks so much! If we plan another trip to that area, we will be staying there again.

Response from the owner Thank you for staying with us and for your kind words!!!

“Great stay!”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

My husband, 3 young daughters, and I just left Mountain View Cabin 1. Our stay was absolutely spectacular! This cabin was definitely worth the 12 hour drive from our home in Florida. The weather was chilly and beautiful and my daughters and I were able to see snow for the first time! Upon arrival, the cabin was immaculately clean. It smelled wonderful and there was no trace of dirt, dust, and no sign of bugs or pests as one would imagine in the mountains. The cabin was secluded, yet right off the parkway and within minutes of lots of natural attractions and family oriented activities. Jill provided us with a plethora if information on the area, including restaurants, photo spots, and other things to do. Jill was always just a phone call or text message away to answer all of our questions. After a fun filled day or sightseeing at Grandfather Mtn or snow tubing at Jonas Ridge, it was wonderful to come back to the cabin and relax by the fireplace. It was also nice to have a washer/dryer unit to dry our damp mittens after playing in the snow. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed to prepare dinner there nightly after buying groceries from Walmart just 15 minutes away. The two bed/two bath cabin accommodated our family of 5 perfectly. Thanks so much! We will definitely be back!

Response from the owner Spectacular!! Thank you so much! What a great review for others to see. We take much pride in our cabins. Thanks again for choosing ours!

“Spectacular all around!!!”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2013

I had one of the most memorable experiences ever at the cabin. My dad and I rented the cabin for some much needed relaxation and bonding time. The owner, Jill, was so friendly and easy to work with. Though the directions in the welcome packet provided were easy to follow, my dad and I were traveling at night and when Dad became the slightest bit uncomfortable about the travel,Jill made herself available to help him find his way and get settled in. You can't beat service like that. Even though it was dark when I first arrived, I could tell from the exterior of the cabin that we were going to be extremely comfortable, but the best part was the inside. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The website just doesn't do it justice. You have to see it for yourself. We were so comfortable. When morning came, we had the most stunning view of the mountains. I walked around outside and admired the location often during the weekend. The mountain trails are amazing. We later traveled to the country store down the road and checked out the views all over the blue ridge mountains. In the evenings, I chilled in the hot tub while my dad read his books and caught up on the news. It was a weekend of peace and quiet which is exactly what we both needed. Bliss! I can't wait until my next stay.

Response from the owner Thank you Claudia for your sweet words!!! See you again soon, Happy Holidays!

“Lovely cabin in a beautiful area”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2013

Jill was very interested in making sure everything was going OK, even before our arrival. The cabin is beautifully built, has a great view of the night sky from the hot tub. The leaves on the Blue Ridge Parkway were the most beautiful when you get close to the cabin. The gas fireplace warms up the place without fussing with wood. The beautiful woods used in the interior construction was the top plus for me. I would not want to be with three more adults here; it was perfect for a couple. My wife and I have gotten a bit spoiled in our roominess standards. I am sure the beauty to be seen will the over-riding factor for anyone.

Response from the owner Thanks for staying and for your review! We do have up to 6 guests stay comfortably but we also specialize in honeymoons. I'm glad you liked the cabin so much! Thanks for your kind words!! Jill Oh and thanks for the great pictures!!!!

“Perfect Get away”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2013

My wife and I wanted to find a nice place to relax and celebrate our 18th anniversary. We found it !. What a great place to stay. The cabin was very clean and had lots of room. It's only a short drive to just about anything but was far enough off the main roads that made this place the perfect get away. We will be coming back in the near future, there are so many things to do in the area we ran out of time.

Response from the owner Thanks Tom, glad you had a great time! See you again soon! Jill

“Perfect Place”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2013

Hi Jill, I've been meaning to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay! What a beautiful area! The cabin was lovely, and quite comfortable. We did arrive in the dark, but we found it without a problem. Since we drove in the dark, we had no idea how much color we would see until the next morning. My eyes went wide at the first glimpse out the front windows. Great view, and it was still colorful, with so much orange. The area was so beautiful past-peak... I can't imagine how stunning it must be at peak color. Thank you for including the area attractions in your information. Without you, we would not have found Rough Ridge or Tom's Creek Falls. They were fantastic sights!! I am sure we'll be back. Thanks again!

Response from the owner Thanks so much for staying with us and for sharing your experience with others! I'm glad you liked my welcome packet, my husband makes fun of me as it's now up to 10 pages and he thinks I'm a little over the top with my detailed directions to all our 'secret spots' and recommendations. You did visit two of my most favorite places! Glad you came and can't wait to have you stay with us again! Thanks, Jill

“Paradise Found!”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

Paradise Found! We were fortunate to spend a whole week in your beautiful cabin and the time went by way too quickly. The spotlessly clean cabin felt like home from the moment we walked in. We loved everything about it from the well-equipped kitchen to the helpful books, decorative touches and ambiance after a day of exploring. What a treat to end the crisp, fall day in the hot tub with the gorgeous view of Humpback Mountain as the daylight disappeared and the sky filled with so many stars. The loft bedroom was our choice for 7 comfortable nights! On a couple of cool mornings, the fireplace had the cabin nice and warm before our coffee was even ready. Your cabin is so well-located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway; very private but close to Spruce Pine and all the amenities, shops and restaurants. We explored south all the way to asheville and north to Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. Two highlights stand out for us - one was going to the top of Mount Mitchell and the most spectacular was your suggested hike from the Rough Ridge parking area along the Tanawha Trail. We have traveled all over North america and the view from here rivals any we've seen - hands down! Thank you, Jill for all of your help and suggestions regarding itinerary and hikes. This has been one of our most memorable, relaxing vacations and we can't wait to return!

Response from the owner So glad you enjoyed your stay and glad you used the welcome packet/itinerary I provide! IT's taken me years to compile all of that information of special places, must sees and places NOT TO MISS and it sounds like you did that, all the way from Canada!!!! Wow what a compliment that you have been all over the USA and our view rivals any you've seen. Glad you enjoyed the cabin and Blue Ridge Parkway...thank you for staying with us and for reviewing our cabin! Jill.
