Escape to A Stone's Throw, the peaceful and comfortable home you can use as your base of operations while you experience all that Transylvania County, NC has to offer. Located midway between Brevard and Lake Toxaway, you are almost in the center of the county. The vacation home is just “a stone's throw” away from all the outdoor activities that are offered. Three bedrooms and one bath, this older home offers cleanliness and comfort and has just recently been updated.

Situated on almost an acre of fenced in yard, there is ample parking for your boat or RV, a couple of outbuildings and a carport to store your mountain bikes or kayaks. Your children or pet will enjoy being able to play in the huge yard. Partly shaded, the yard also offers a gas barbecue grill, picnic table, outdoor dining table and chairs, a fire pit and a waterfall to enjoy after you are through exploring the area.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the large front porch and wave to the friendly townspeople as they pass by. Sit in the rockers and just rest.

So far our guests tell us they love the ambience of the small town, the well-equipped kitchen, the wireless high speed internet, the 42” flat screen television with satellite, the cleanliness and coziness of the home. After a day of hiking, kayaking or looking at one of the county's 250 waterfalls, you can relax with the well-stocked inventory of books to read, DVD and VCR movies, games and puzzles. A Stone's Throw is a dream for those with pets and children.

A Stone's Throw is handicap accessible with a ramp at the back of the home. The doors are 36” wide and there is a grab bar in the bathroom. The floors are all hardwood and the front porch is accessible from inside the home with a ramp.

The French Broad River is approximately 250' from the front door of the house across the school's practice field. The headwaters of the river are a mile upstream; but Champion Park in Rosman is where most people access the river with their kayaks, canoes and tubes. A Stone's Throw is within walking distance of Champion Park, the grocery store, the post office, the town's swimming pool and a few charming stores. .

Experience your vacation in the small mountain town of Rosman, North Carolina, located 8 miles west of Brevard, the county seat. Rosman is half way between Lake Toxaway and Brevard. A little known surprise for most people, Rosman is a small town with a big heart. The population is only 586 and the town has two stoplights.
