Description
ESCAPE TO CORNISH COTTAGE DELIGHT
ALL OUR STAYS INCLUDE Cornish cream tea, fresh flowers and firewood for wood burner.
Ancarva is an unspoilt, cosy little cottage in a pretty village setting. It is located in the heart of Perranwell close to Falmouth on the south Cornish coast (10mins) and St Agnes on the north 20mins).
The cottage is ideal for 1 - 3 adults or 1-2 adults with one child.
Ancarva is a quintessential semi-detached Cornish cottage with granite stone walls, beamed ceiling , cosy wood burner and other authentic features. When you walk through the front door you are welcomed by a porch which is ideal for taking off coats and boots after a great day out exploring Cornwall. Through to an open plan Kitchen, dining ,and living area which gives it a real cosy feeling especially when the log burner is glowing. The well equipped kitchen offers a table and three chairs, French dresser, a washer/dryer, electric oven, grill and hob with extractor over, microwave oven, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle. and everything else you could need for day to day living. The living room has comfortable seating for four with a refurbished fireplace and woodburner, Smart TV, WiFi Smart Bluray/DVD, radio with lightning connector dock, and unlimited fibre WiFi. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed and bed side tables, fitted wardrobe, chest of draws and SMART TV/DVD above. The other has a full single bed with a lux mattress, bed side table, fitted wardrobe and chest of draws. Both bedrooms have smart electric heating. The bathroom has a modern white bathroom suit with double ended bath and electric shower above with pivot glass shower door, modern vanity unit with storage underneath, heated towel rail and shaver socket.
All linen and towels are provided and are of good quality (sorry but we do not provide beach towels).
The cottage even has its own 'secret' garden by a stream. The peaceful private lawned garden with patio (table/chairs for 4) perfect for breakfast or an evening drink, is accessed by a short private (50 yards) footpath behind the cottage. To the front there is a small bistro patio and graveled drive with private parking space for one car on the property.Ancarva makes an excellent base from which to explore all Cornwall has to offer.
Perranwell itself is a classic welcoming Cornish village with its own pub (which serves excellent food and good ale with a warm and friendly atmosphere), village shop/Post Office, church and excellent transport links including train station with regular trains to both Truro and Falmouth and follow on links to St Ives (leave the car at the cottage for a day out)
The thriving port of Falmouth is only 10 mins away with its award winning beaches with water sports and beach side restaurants, National Maritime Museum and varied choice of boutique shops, restaurants and bars. Falmouth is a 'proper' Cornish holiday town with a flourishing foody scene including Rick Stein's and other award winning restaurants such as Olivers Eatery. Its many markets, festivals and regattas offer lots of options throughout the year.
Cornwall's cathedral city of Truro is also only a short drive. where you will find high street shops, bars, restaurants, cinema and the Hall for Cornwall theatre. The beautiful Helford River estuary and Roseland peninsular are easily accessed. by road or water taxi's / ferry's. For a change of scenery try the more rugged north coast where towns such as Porthtowan and St Agnes are becoming popular haunts of the Cornish surfing scene.
Walkers and ramblers can delight in some of the most spectacular south west coast path scenery including the Roseland Peninsular as well as country walks. The area is a walkers paradise with country walks outside the front door, creekside walks as close as Devoran and the south coastal pathway is within a short drive. In the cottage you will find an array of walking guides and information. Cornish garden lovers are also spoilt for choice with Trelissick, Trebah, Glendurgan and many more easily accessible. For cyclists the Devoran to Portreath Bissoe trail is literally adjacent to the village
