Gull Cottage is an idyllic place to stay - a traditional and beautiful Grade II listed Cornish cottage occupying one of the most iconic locations in the area. It sits near the end of a small row of old Boscastle Harbour Cottages directly overlooking Boscastle's beautiful and historic harbour.

Situated on the south-facing side of the harbour the cottage is easily recognised by its distinctive boat-seat attached to the front of the house. The cottage's terrace is carved into the side of the harbour and is the perfect place to sit and relax, eat a meal or simply watch the sun go down.

Built around the end of the 1700s, Gull Cottage is in a very special area. It sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation and is in a designated conservation area. Nature and beauty is all around. The village is a short walk where there are cosy pubs, restaurants and coffee shops.

Downstairs is a comfortable lounge and a dining room with a good sized table - both rooms have a log-burning stove. There is also a kitchen and shower room. Upstairs has a bathroom and four bedrooms: two doubles, a twin and one with bunk beds.

There are two parking spaces, one immediately outside the property and one to the rear in a car port - while this fits a family car, manoeuvring is a little tight!

The cottage is on the South West Coastal Path. From outside the cottage you can walk along the coast south to Tintagel, north to Pentagon Waterfall or walk the wooded path that follows the River Valency up and out of the valley.

As members of a wide family, including several vulnerable people, we share the concern that most people have of Covid-19. We're taking all reasonable steps to play our part in navigating this pandemic, including completely moth-balling Gull Cottage in lock-down.

We employ a professional cleaning company to look after Gull Cottage. With them we have agreed a more stringent cleaning routine between guest stays.

No parties (including hen and stag which are strictly forbidden).
There are 2 parking spaces at the house, please only park outside Gull Cottage and in the car port at the back of the house.
Additional parking is a short walk away in the village and available as pay and display on a daily or weekly basis.
There are residents in the terrace; consideration regarding noise is respectfully requested.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Steve and Louise (the owner) a message.

If Steve and Louise (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
