Description

Howells at the Moon Farm cabin is set on 13 acres in a very private setting, close to Waynesville, Maggie Valley and Asheville, NC. You are surrounded by mountains, meadows, fields and streams, yet you are close to shopping and activities. There are trails on the property so you can take in the peace of the forest. It really is the best of both worlds, where you can enjoy privacy, but also be in town in 5 minutes. The Family Cabin is tucked away in the woods on Howells at the Moon Farm. It's our newer cabin and is a favorite with our repeat guests. There is a mountain stream that trips and falls, which you can see and hear from the cabin. It sleeps four, with a king size bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the loft. The beds and the loft are more suited to children than adults. The 40 X 8 deep porch with lots of rockers is perfect for mornings with a cup of coffee, or evenings with a glass of wine. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessary cooking implements and utensils needed to make a great meal. The living room has plenty of seating, a large, flat screen TV with Roku, free Netflix and free Wi-Fi. We welcome your dogs and do not charge pet fees. The beds are made with luxury linens, the bath is stocked with fluffy towels and robes, and we supply firewood for the fire pit. Take a nice soak in the hot tub, throw on your fuzzy robe, and relax by the fire.....just breathe in the fresh mountain air and feel yourself exhale.

Getting around

You will need a car to get around but there is so much to see in the surrounding area. We are 15 minutes from two entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as 20 minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Another short trip east is Asheville, and south is Sylva, Dillsboro and Bryson City. Great mountain towns just waiting to be explored. Historic Main Street in Waynesville is delightful, with lots of galleries for local artisans, great restaurants, a wine shop, and lots of shopping including Mast General Store which is a must-see. Our cabin is a great jumping off spot for all of these exciting destinations.

Interaction with guest

Our guests have the ease of going directly to the cabin without having to check in anywhere. We live on the property, but leave our guests in privacy unless they need us for something. Then we're Johnny on the Spot!

“Nice little cabin in the woods.”

Due to our dog breaking her foot while out shopping in Waynesville, I was NOT able to go and check out the surrounding areas like I wanted to. Maybe next time.

If Judy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
