Description from owner

Description

The Barn at Titley is a stunning modern barn conversion with boutique hotel style décor, decorated with natural materials to complement the barn's rustic heritage. Graded 5 star according to Visit England standards, it is situated overlooking hills, forests and farmland. It provides a peaceful location for those seeking a tranquil, rural base for their holiday, which is not isolated. With the adjacent nature reserve and lakes, the area is rich is wild-life and you can sit watching the many house martins flit about the barns and lie in bed hearing the owls hooting at night .

The living space is on the first floor to take advantage of the wonderful cruck beams and vaulted ceiling into the roof of the barn. There is a modern, well-equipped kitchen in sycamore overlooking the peaceful, communal courtyard and other barns which form part of the small estate. The kitchen is well equipped with food processors, and Sophie Conran china. A Laura Ashley sofa and leather gentlemens' club wing chairs together with OKA ĺights furnish the sitting area.

Tucked away under the eaves overlooking the living area is a stunning long gallery. This has a single bed (suitable for older children and adults only due to proximity to the balcony) which provides some flexibility with sleeping arrangements. With a sofa and a desk this is a great space for teenagers to "chill-out" and for those wanting a quiet read.

The ground floor has two beautiful four-poster bedrooms with Egyptian cotton bed linen and plump feather pillows. The cosy king-size bedroom has a bespoke four-poster bed and travertine lined en- suite bathroom - bath with shower over. The double

room has a contemporary four-poster bed with a wet room with shower and sink. This bedroom has space for a travel cot and opens out onto the courtyard so you can pop out for your morning coffee. There is also a small separate cloakroom adjacent to the bedroom. (Please note the space around part of the king-size bed is a little tight so may not suit those with impaired mobility.)

Outside, the rear courtyard is a suntrap and perfect for breakfast. On a warm day you can listen to the gentle creaking of the barns. At the front of the house, the garden catches the sun in the afternoon and evening and you can sit out with a relaxing glass of wine after a hard day walking or sightseeing looking out onto open fields, hills and forests. BBQ provided.

The Stagg, gastro-pub opens under new management mid-April -see social media for more details.

STRICTLY - parking for two cars only. No large domestic vehicles e.g. campervans/trades vehicles. No smokers.

For our little guests, we provide a travel cot (guests to bring cot linen), highchair, socket covers and a safety gate (for use on the bedroom doors only)

“Rivers and Gardens”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2019

We had a very comfortable stay in this barn conversion, the weather was extremely hot but we stayed coolish, with the help of stone walls and being out in the quiet countryside. We had a choice of places to explore, hired a canoe on the Wye and hired bikes. Ludlow,Hereford, Hay on Wye and the Royal Welsh Show were all nearby. We thought the barn was well equipped and had nice touches such as good quality toiletries. I loved watching the sunset on the hills from the lounge upstairs.
