Nestled in the picturesque Camel Valley in North Cornwall, Cobnuts Cottage is the ideal country retreat for couples. Enjoy woodland walks on our 42 acre estate and direct access to the Camel Trail; a peaceful and idyllic location on the River Camel. Walking distance to pub, tea room and Vineyard. Just 10 miles from Padstow on the Camel Trail.

TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2019. Airbnb Superhost.

Cobnuts Cottage is a delightful and quaint stable conversion full of character. It has an open-plan layout with a four-poster superking size bed, dressing alcove, french windows opening into your fully-enclosed private garden and decking area with stunning views over the Camel Valley Vineyards.

The log burner and log store are at your disposable for a cosy and comfortable stay. There is an iPod dock with DAB radio. There is also a BBQ & picnic bench for warmer evenings. Modern "smart TV" with integrated viewing apps including Netflix.

Cobnuts is one of 4 holiday cottages on the Butterwell Farm Estate.

With direct access to the Camel Trail between Bodmin and Wadebridge we are in the perfect situation to cycle the famous Camel Trail – stopping for a cream tea or Cornish Pasty on the way! Whether you just want a quiet cycle along the flat tranquil Camel Trail or you are seeking a greater challenge on the adjoining forest trails, Butterwell has direct access to a cycling journey the novice to even the best downhill mountain biker will not forget. With a flat trail running to the north coast at Padstow and all the way to Bodmin Moor you can enjoy up to 34 miles of stress free riding along the beautiful Camel Valley. Butterwell Farm is also ideally located for those looking for more adventurous routes with fantastic mountain biking opportunities just a short cycle from your front door – explore Grogley, Hustyns, Bishops, Dunmere and Cardinham Woods.

Apart from the fantastic biking, Butterwell Farm is also a great location for some of the other brilliant attractions Cornwall has to offer. The Eden Project is less than 10 miles from Butterwell, and other nearby attractions include the Jamaica Inn, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Camel Valley Vineyards, Crealy Adventure Park, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Lanhydrock National Trust Property and many many more. We stock all of our holiday cottages with plenty of information on nearby attractions.

You will have a fantastic choice of dining options available to you close to Cornwall’s premier gastronomic area. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Paul Ainsworth's Number 6 Restaurant in Padstow or Nathan Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen in Port Isaac are all a short drive away. Alternatively there are some fantastic local pubs with great atmosphere just waiting for you through the Cornish country lanes.

We welcome with enthusiasm well-behaved dogs at Butterwell. A pet charge of £20 per dog per stay will be applied to your booking. We must insist on a few house rules to keep all of our resident guests and visiting wildlife safe and happy. Please keep your dog on a lead unless enclosed in your private garden. Please make sure you clean up after your dogs and place their bags inside a bin liner in your designated outside bins. Dogs are not permitted in the river due to spawning fish and other wildlife, unless in the ONLY designated area which is in front of Butterwell main house in between the two trees where the picnic bench is (still keeping your dog on the lead). Please do not leave your dogs inside the property unattended at any time or on any furniture. Please try to remove dog hairs from carpets and rugs before your departure. Please do not use baths or showers to clean your dogs – there are outside hoses provided at all cottages. Please ensure your dogs are free from parasites and fleas before entering the property. Failure to do so will incur subsequent charges.

We are very happy to be welcoming guests to this special part of Cornwall and we have been certified as “Good to Go” by Visit England, the National Tourist Board of England.

At Butterwell we have been taking all possible steps to respond to the challenges that Covid-19 brings to us all. We have purchased a “fogger” which will disperse natural and eco-friendly anti-bacterial sanitiser across every surface inside the property both before and after our cleaners have been in. This should give us, our cleaners and our guests peace of mind and confidence when visiting Butterwell Farm.

We have written covid-specific cleaning procedures that us and our cleaning team are following rigorously. As well as the fogger, we are using anti-bacterial and sanitising cleaning products that comply with the European standard for the bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants as proof of effective infection control against harmful micro-organisms, and PPE when necessary.
