“Not the property that we were expecting - a misleading description and very unclean.”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2020

This property needs some serious love and attention. Upon arrival we spent most of the first evening cleaning the kitchen utensils, including all the cutlery, pots, pans, place mats, a plastic colande… More

Response from the owner Hi Les We are sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the lakes Your description clearly relates to the fact that you were disappointed on arrival as for whatever reason you came to the conclusion that there were only 3 cabins on the 18 acre estate which was never stated nor implied in our advert. In fact the only time 3 cabins were mentioned was when we sent directions and details of where our 3 cabins were on a map clearly showing their location among numerous other cabins which was after you had booked We spend what amounts to 4 1/2 hours cleaning each cabin (3 people x 1 1/2 hours) and our re bookings for 2021 in Boltons Tarn are 23 weeks already booked with 15 of them being repeat guests.so fortunately most guests appreciate our efforts The site is located in the heart of the Lake District with literally 583,747 acres of hills, lakes and prime woodland to explore so we are sorry you were disappointed that the site is only 18 acres and has other cabins on it. Strange how you never mentioned the fact that when you notified us on the Sunday evening that the boiler supplying the shower room basin had broken and we were unable to find a local plumber to change it we located a replacement, set off from our home in Doncaster early the following morning, collected the boiler on route from Screwfix in Bradford, arrived at the cabin and replaced the boiler all before lunch time on the Monday. Guess it would have been too much to include something positive. Pete & Ann

Response from the owner Hi Tony Obviously sorry to hear the mattress was found uncomfortable, we know how important a good nights sleep is. Response from the owner Thank you for reviewing our cabin. We do try to accommodate everyone’s needs however mattress can be somewhat subjective dependent on one’s preference.
