“This cabin is nice, but it needs some things to make it very nice”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2018

The cabin has a nice location and it's a nice place to stay, but the gravel road you have to turn in to get to the cabin needs more reflectors for guest coming in at night. The walk way to the st… More

Response from the owner Thank you very much for your input and we take every comment very serious as our goal is to make every guests' visit enjoyable, comfortable, and relaxing as possible. Beginning with the top, we see your point about the entrance and have had some additional brush removed and installed new house numbers and reflectors. Regarding the steps, we had a contractor check the levelness of the wood steps and could not find an issue; however, we have ensured that the handrails are sturdy and that the cabin rental site does not reflect that the cabin is handicap assessable. A guest should certainly consider that in the mountains that the walkways may have a grade and the gravel may not be sure footed. So sorry about the trash pickup, we do have this house rule noted on the rental site so guest will be aware that in the NC mountains that there is no trash pick-up so we kindly ask our guests to assist with disposing of excess trash. There is a map to the dump site in the guest book. With this said, we have heard of a new business in the area that may be helping cabin owners with trash pick up and we are checking out that possible opportunity. Regarding the hot water, we had a plumber check and certify the system. The cabin utilizes a modern tank less hot water system and learned from the plumber that the guest must have the hot water on completely to activate the system. Once the system is activated then it stays on. We have checked with all subsequent guests and they have shared that they did not have any hot water issues. Thank you again for sharing your concerns as this helps us look at any items that may affect a guests comfort and stay. Regards, Climbing Bear Creekside Cabin
