Description

Springfield Barn is a beautiful, peaceful retreat in a rural setting in North Staffordshire on the edge of the Peak District just two miles from Alton Towers.

The cottage was built in the 1850s and is surrounded by stunning countryside. It has been tastefully converted from an old barn, retaining lots of character, exposed stone, beams and modern home comforts.

The living room has solid oak floor and exposed stone walls. The spacious farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room has traditional style gas range, slate floor, bespoke solid oak units and a Belfast sink. There is also a utility room which houses a washing machine and dishwasher. The bathroom has a ball and clawfoot roll-top bath, shower attachment, toilet and oak floor. Upstairs there are two beamed bedrooms, each with sloping ceilings; one double and one twin.

Springfield Barn is a fantastic place to simply unwind or as a base to explore everything the area has to offer. There is lots to do whatever the weather, from walking (The Rambler's Retreat at Dimmingsdale is less than three miles away) to visiting stately homes, to taking a ride on the local Churnet Valley Railway. You can visit the old market town of Leek for antiques and cafés, and Stoke for its potteries.
