Description

Split level 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cottage with large full kitchen and living room. Wood fireplace inside and fire pit outside with plenty of wood provided. Cable, high speed WiFi are included. All the essentials required - linens, towels, shampoo, soap, paper goods, coffee and basic condiments are all provided - you only need bring food and a change of clothes. There are a total of 5 beds: one queen bed in the master with a private bathroom; three Twin beds in the second bedroom and one roll-away bed in the living room that can be added to the second bedroom if you desire.

Situated amidst the Pisgah National Forest and surrounded by mountains on all sides. There's a 4 star rated 18 hole golf course right next door - you're walking distance to the club house.

Has the best view of the Black Mountain range anywhere. Walking distance to Roaring Fork Falls. Minutes to Mt. Mitchell and Crabtree Falls. One hour to Asheville. Comfort, beauty and convenience all in one.

No lock boxes or out of town owners - the Bear Den is owned and operated by Albert's Lodge at Mt. Mitchell - we are professionals in the hospitality field as well as being close at hand should you require assistance or information about the surrounding area. We greet you at arrival, take you to the cottage and give you the grand tour. We do not require you to strip beds, start laundry, dump garbage or any of the annoying things other vacation rentals in the area demand. You're on vacation and we do all the work. Just enjoy your stay and we take care of the rest.

The Bear Den is pet friendly, however, there is an additional one time pet fee of $25 per pet as well as some common sense rules. Please let us know if you intend to bring your pet(s) so we can adjust the quote for the pet fee and discuss the rules.

Getting around

Being in the rugged mountains of North Carolina means you will need to provide your own transportation. All the roads loeading to our location are excellent so any mode of transportation that can travel by road can be used. Cars, motorcycles and bicycles can all access our properties with ease.

Interaction with guest

The Bear Den is owned & operated by Albert's lodge at Mt. Mitchell. We are full time hospitality professionals & always available to assist our guests with anything they need during their visit. Most of our properties are within walking distance of the inn or a very short drive so we can respond to your needs within minutes.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to post this review - we love to hear all about the great times spent at our properties. This one gave us a chuckle. Apologies for the washer issue, our cleaning crew use the one at the inn and we had not been informed of the issue there. We have since repaired the washer & it's ready for the next guest. Thank you for mentioning the campers - we host two sporting events during the year for which we provide camping on our 5 acre property. Both events happen to start very early the next morning so most, if not all the campers are usually asleep by 9 pm, if not sooner, and the nature of the events precludes any drinking or partying so they are the quietest campers you'll ever come across.

How do damage deposits work?
