Description

A self-contained barn conversion on a small organic farm in the beautiful Lorton Valley. The cottage has a good location on the edge of the traditional farmyard, with Stanger Beck running past beneath the windows. The views from the first floor living area stretch down to the river Cocker and beyond to the slopes of Whin Fell.

Interaction with guest

The cottage is next to the farmhouse and I will usually be around when you arrive. If not then I won't be too far away. You can buy vegetables from us during the growing season. We have door step milk deliveries twice weekly and can arrange for extra milk to be delivered for you during your stay (pint glass bottles). We can also arrange for the newsagents in Cockermouth to deliver newspapers. They arrive with the post so there is no delivery on Sundays!

“NYE late booking”

We decided to book a last minute overnight stay for NYE - do something a bit different than our normal routine! So glad we came! The cottage was lovely and warm and welcoming. Michelle had baked a loaf of homemade bread for us and arranged milk to be there too. The cottage has been lovely renovated and had everything we would need - including an open fire which was ready for us to light. We had a brilliant night and would definitely come back again.

“stable cottage”

we stayed there for a week a gorgeous and comfortable cottage ideal for exploring the lakes. Well decorated and furnished and Michelle, the owner, baked us a lovely wholemeal loaf for our arrival.

How do damage deposits work?
