Description from manager

Description

Cowrie has a fabulous location in New Polzeath at the quieter Baby Bay end of Polzeath beach – ideal for sand castles, rock pooling, beach games and uncrowded evening & early morning surfing. From Baby Bay the unspoilt National Trust coastline extends uninterrupted towards Pentire Point (via ‘Cowrie Bay’) and beyond to Port Isaac – perfect for magnificent cliff walks.

Cowrie has been the owners’ family holiday home for over 50 years and is great for families with children as well as for relaxing, out of season, breaks. It is a large single-level bungalow, recently refurbished, with its own spacious garden extending to Baby Bay.

The most prominent feature of the house is the comfortable ‘sun room’, which takes full advantage of Cowrie’s position, its large picture windows enabling guests to enjoy the sea and coast views. Ample seating includes a four/five person dining/games table. The sun room is linked by double doors to the adjoining sitting room. Cowrie has four bedrooms - one super king bedroom with new en-suite bathroom, one twin bedroom and one twin with zip and link mattresess that can be made up as a super king bed

and one ‘junior’ bedroom with bunk beds, single bed and ‘Z’ bed. All bedrooms have wash basins and electric shaver points.. We recommend that the house is suitable for either max 8 adults - or 6 adults with up to 4 children.

The modern kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, induction hob, combi oven, combi microwave and dishwasher. It extends into the dining area, which opens out through French windows into the sheltered patio with rattan furniture – a favourite place in the morning sunshine.

Cowrie has wi-fi broadband, and there are flat screen TVs and games cupboards in the sitting room and ‘junior’ bedroom.

Other facilities include two new shower rooms and laundry room, new double-glazed windows, underfloor heating and heated towel rails in the bathroom and shower rooms, modern thermostatically-controlled electric radiators (not night store) in all other rooms, a heated drying cupboard, undercover outdoor drying facilities, an outdoor heated shower. Linen and towels (but not beach towels) are provided; cots and high chairs can be hired locally.

Whilst maintaining the traditional character, Cowrie is now a warm and comfortable house with modern insulation, double glazing etc.

Sorry no dogs.
