The Lizard Peninsula is a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sunset Cottage is less than 3 miles inland from Lizard Point itself, the most southerly part of the UK. One of a terrace of six bungalows in a spacious cluster of holiday properties at Trevelyan, it is set well back from the road in a large green space. A patio to the rear opens onto a secluded communal garden. True to its name, you can see incredible sunsets from the bungalow windows. Kynance Cove, the Lizard, Cadgwith Cove, Gunwalloe, Poldhu and Kennack Sands are within easy reach by car and the coastal path is accessible through the nearby nature reserve. Furnished and equipped to a high standard, Sunset Cottage provides a comfortably compact base at a very reasonable cost.

ACCOMMODATION: LOUNGE/DINING ROOM: an open-plan light room with comfortable seating, dining table and chairs, new flatscreen Freeview TV, DVD & Blu-ray Player, door leads out to the garden. KITCHEN: well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. MAIN BEDROOM: Double Bed with built-in wardrobe. SECOND BEDROOM: Two 2ft 6in beds with built-in wardrobe. BATHROOM: with bath and power shower over, WC and washbasin and wall-mounted heater. Also SEPARATE WC and washbasin. PATIO: with picnic table overlooking well-maintained communal garden. “Great accommodation, location and price”

The accommodation is on a complex of about 30 chalet/bungalow style properties off the main Helston to Lizard road with ample parking and space to exercise a dog. The cottage itself was perfect for our needs - 2 bedrooms (although we only needed one but the other came in handy for storing clothes, equipment etc), a modern and well equipped kitchen and a lounge/dining room with everything needed for a weeks stay. The bathroom could do with a bit of modernising but was sufficient for a shower and wash when necessary. There is also a separate WC too. The garden is a wide open space at the back of the property which caters for 4 other properties so was perfect for exercising our dog on a morning. It might not be quite so ideal for a less well behaved dog as the garden is not enclosed. Location wise it was great but that is all dependent on what individual plans are. Lizard Point, Kynance Cove and Mullion are only a short drive away which have great walks and beaches but if you plan to spend time more to the north of Cornwall then be prepared for a hours drive. On arrival the cottage was very clean and tidy and all in all for a weeks holiday at a very reasonable price, we were delighted.
