Description from manager

Description

Constructed from traditional honey-coloured Cotswold stone dating back around 150 years, we believe the cottage originally started life as a barn. The owners have injected new life and incorporated contemporary features, including a large log burner, eye-catching oak, and nickel stair banisters, and cleverly designed under-eave bedroom wardrobes.

Step through the front door into the bright and airy hallway – a great place to hang coats, take off walking boots, and relax after a day exploring the Cotswolds in this wonderfully welcoming, luxury holiday rental.

So much thought has been put into Teagles Cottage with nothing forgotten, making it a delightful Cotswold holiday home-from-home. From the thoughtful toiletries and chest of family games to the fully equipped kitchen and fantastic log burner it's not surprising that guests return year after year.

Ground Floor

Entrance Hall:

The front door opens into a spacious and well-lit hallway with a pretty dresser, coat hooks, umbrella stand, and polished stone floor – an ideal place to hang your coats, take off your muddy boots and store your umbrella after a country walk. The feature piece of the hallway is the contemporary stylish, yet perfectly in-keeping, oak and nickel banisters.

W.C.:

A dual-flush toilet with a hand basin is neatly situated to the left of the entrance.

From the hall, straight through a set of double oak doors into the:

Living - Dining Room Area:

The L-shaped, open-plan living-dining room is a bright and welcoming triple aspect room. The living room area is furnished with cosy armchairs, large sofa and love seat for cuddling up in front of the fabulous wood burner. Guests can watch the Smart TV/DVD or listen to music on the Bluetooth speaker. Solid oak side tables and drawer units enhance the welcoming and luxurious feel of the living area, while French windows open out to the patio courtyard where guests can enjoy the outside seating in a quiet setting.

The Dining Area is home to a large oak dining table with soft leather seating for seven people. The bookcase has a wide selection of books, guides and leaflets on local attractions and places of interest, while a leather chest houses a wide collection of games. Soft wall and tabletop lighting provide an inviting setting for an evening meal, while breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed with light streaming through from the window overlooking the courtyard.

The Kitchen:

The very well-equipped contemporary kitchen, with polished tiled floor and coordinating splash-back tiling, includes an electric oven and ceramic hob with extractor fan, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, four-slice toaster and Nespresso coffee maker with starter pack of capsules. A wide range of cleaning products are provided for guests' use (including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and anti-viral surface cleaner), while the very ample cupboards house bakeware, mugs, kitchen utensils and children's plates and cups.

Utility / Laundry Room:

Here you'll find the washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes horse/airer, iron, ironing board, highchair (and splash mat) and cordless vacuum. The pantry-style cupboard houses cookware, crockery and glasses (including champagne flutes and ice bucket), cafetières, enamel baking trays and a full set of pans. In addition, there is a basket containing the First Aid kit, cling film, a torch and other extras. Fire extinguishers are on the Utility worktop and a fire blanket is mounted on the wall. Appliance instructions are housed in a folder in the utility.

First Floor

The staircase, fitted with contemporary oak and nickel banisters, leads up to the four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The bedrooms are decorated with a soft hessian tone that is soothing and relaxing while also affording an airy and spacious feeling. Each has a different accent colour adding individuality and character. All bedrooms have wardrobes with plenty of wooden hangers and each has a hairdryer plus a cooling fan for the summer.

Bedroom One:

The master bedroom is a sunny and relaxing space with its inviting king-size bed, ideal for resting after a long day exploring the Cotswolds. A large chest of drawers, a wardrobe, and bedside tables provide plenty of storage and hanging space. A slimline Freeview TV, chair, and full-length mirror is also provided. Under the bed, you'll find the travel cot, while a bassinet for tiny babies is in the chest of drawers.

Ensuite Bathroom:

The master bedroom's en-suite has a full bath with wall-mounted controls and cleverly concealed taps, an over-bath shower and glass screen, along with a washbasin, WC, a heated towel rail and mirrors, and a shaver point.

Bedroom Two:

Featuring a king-size bed, bedroom two overlooks the patio garden at the rear of the cottage. A cleverly built-in wardrobe and dressing table, along with bedside units, provide plenty of room to hang clothes and arrange personal items. A handy full-length mirror is also provided.

Bedroom Three:

Response from the manager We are delighted you had an enjoyable stay in Teagles Cottage and thank you for your kind comments about its great location and it being exceptionally tastefully decorated. We note your preference for extra large beds, however, we would just like to clarify that the beds, for which we regularly receive great feedback, are full-size UK standard doubles and are the most widely used of all bed sizes in the UK. It's great to hear that you all enjoyed your time at the cottage and thank you for highly recommending it to others. Best wishes Bolthole Retreats
