Description
The Stables is ground floor accommodation suitable for wheelchair access. The owners have furnished and equipped them to a high standard to provide superior self catering accommodation. Greenah Crag is situated close to Troutbeck, between Keswick and Penrith in a lovely rural location, yet only 10 minute drive from the M6. This central location is ideal, with Ullswater to the South, Keswick to the East and the Caldbeck Fells to the North, all are within a 20 minute drive and offer beautiful scenery and great walks. The cottage itself has a open plan living area, with wooden and tiled floors throughout the house. There is a double bed in the bedroom, with good quality furniture and clothes hanging space. There is a very spacious, modern bathroom which, although not a wet-room is fitted for guests with limited mobility.
Overall the property offers a convenient style of level ground floor accommodation in a peaceful and scenic setting.

“This is an ideal base.”
An ideal base for exploring The Lake District and North Yorks, it is a relaxing place to stay, this was our fifth visit and we hope to return.

“Lovely quiet cottage”

Response from the owner I am very sorry you have experienced this. Your booking wasn't made my end, I only received an enquiry. All hosts have 24hours to accept or decline a booking, they're not my terms. I spoke to TripAdvisor and unfortunately due to personal reasons I could not log on to decline your booking within the 24hr window it gives you, I explained this to them and they were going to pass this on to you. I told TA that the dates were unavailable due to an owner booking and they updated my calendar as I was still not able to log in. The owner of this property had already made an owner booking so that is why the 6 nights had been taken up, so it is not a 'Dutch Auction'. Again I am very sorry that you could not stay this time.

“A good all rounder”
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a stay here for 2 nights over the weekend with our 2 dogs. The place is really well located just off the A66 and a convenient 10 minute drive to Keswick. The place is ideal for a couple, a nice modern kitchen and bathroom, quiet bedroom and comfortably lounge area. Would highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be revisiting.

Response from the owner Hi Colin, Thank you for your review, however I am sorry that you didn't receive my email sent a week and a half prior to your stay (20th July). I sent it directly to your personal email address which is the one used on your TripAdvisor account. On that email you would have found key code, directions, postcode and mobile numbers for out of hours contact. I am sorry, but never had this problem before, all visitors have received email.
