Description

Puddleduck Lodge is positioned right on the banks of the Troutbeck river which flows into Windermere. This lovely pine Lodge has 2 bedrooms and a balcony over the river.

Puddleduck Lodge is fully equipped and provides very high quality accommodation for your Lake District holiday. The lodge is an open plan log cabin design with attractive pine panelling throughout the interior. There is a wonderful riverside balcony, just perfect for outdoor dining beside the river.

The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park at Limefitt in the Troutbeck valley. This is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District yet very peaceful and relaxing. Many lovely Lakeland walks start straight from the front door of your Lodge. The village of Troutbeck also boasts 2 fine pubs serving quality food and wine and real ale.

The Lodge is also close to the bustling towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness. These Lake District towns have a large selection of shops, restaurants, bars and many other attractions for holidaymakers. Boat trips on the lake set off various piers on the Lake Windermere.

Limefitt park has a host of facilities for you to enjoy including a river pool, Lakeland pub, shop, adventure playground and nearby pony trekking centre. And of course the river winds through the park.

“Cancel booking”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2022

Found what I thought was the perfect lodge and booked it for July 2023 only to be contacted the day after and told holiday lettings had booked it at 2022 prices and the price for 2023 was nearly double ! How can you just double the price of a week holiday but take the booking , very unprofessional by the owner and holiday lettings !

Response from the owner We set our prices about 12 months ahead. After that point, the default prices is used in any quotation generated automatically by holiday lettings. As this enquiry was for more than 1 year in advance, the default price was used in the quote. The default price is generally the lowest price for 1 night during the low season. We have since changed this default price on our listing but enquiries for dates over a year away are still likely to be incorrect. We did not accept the booking and we explained the above reason for the incorrect price. The guest was not charged any money.

“Fantastic lodge”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2019

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay over Christmas. Special memories made as a family of four in this toasty cabin! I thought we might be cold but the underfloor heating was extremely warm. The cabin had every thing you need in it, even a small bottle of milk in the fridge. The location is beautiful and quiet, didn’t see any neighbours as the cabins are located in a private manner. The staff are respectful too of your privacy, only staff we saw was the men who came to clean the jacuzzi every morning, and they never looked into our cabin through the windows. The WiFi we paid for was not good at all and we could only use it by the reception gates, however it was very detoxing for us as a family, as no one was on their phones (kids are 12 and 13 years old) and the lack of WiFi brought us closer as a family as we played lots of good old fashioned board games! Definitely will be returning. Love love loved it : )
