Description

Pony Meadows Lodge is a pet and child friendly privately owned spacious 3 bedroomed lodge sleeping 5 people (travel cot available upon request). Situated in a prestigious and very desirable 5* gated park at TroutBeck White Cross Bay Caravan Park, this tranquil and idyllic location in the Troutbeck valley is close to Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside and their attractions. Our lodge is positioned in a peaceful location, with raised deck and parking for two cars. There are numerous walks from the Lodge for both novice or proficient walkers alike. Enjoy alfresco meals and drinks on the deck whilst taking in the splendid views or take a short stroll the site shop which stocks everyday essentials, the Flying Boat Restaurant is sited within the site which serves real ales and good food. A short walk to troutbeck village will bring you to local Lakeland pubs the mortal man and The Queens Head both serve locally brewed ales and excellent food with open fires.

“Very good Location and a good lodge to stay in”

The lodge itself is very easy to find and its in the perfect location - especially if you have a dog who loves water and running around without a lead in the woods. The woods located behind the lodge were the perfect morning and evening walk for out dog and the lake which is very close to the lodge was perfect for a nice walk and a swim for the dog. When we arrived at the lodge we noticed that the double bed had no duvet bedding and the pillows did not even have pillowcases ( the pillows have loads of stains on them and a pillowcase was definitely needed. We had to get some pillows and duvets from the bunk beds which luckily we didn't need. The wifi at the lodge is very poor therefore we could not connect Netflix to watch a movie in the evening etc. This is the reason for a 4* as other than the minor issues mentioned above this was an excellent holiday and we had everything we needed. We will be back again for sure.

“Perfect retreat”

Booked the lodge just 2 days prior to going. Booking experience absolutely fine. Received all details and critical key code the night prior to travel. Arrived and check in no problem. The lodge was exceptionally clean and everything you would have at home. Some basic essentials in toilet and kitchen. Tried WiFi but really slow and I mean really slow even my phone could only get 3G ( remember that?? ) site was lovely by the lake with shop and bar / restaurant (did not try) All in all a great break and would recommend to anyone of all ages and many thanks to Ian and Anneka

“Holiday pony meadows”

Location of lodge on site was nice, neighbours one side, other side neighbours arrived on our last night. Lodge had sunshine most of the day. Dog walk behind lodge ideal for first morning toilet run for the dog, dog bins provided by the site. Walking into Ambleside manageable either by road or through fells...approx 1hour. Same with Windermere. Lodge, adequate however fairly basic, limited crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. No instructions left in lodge how to use oven, heating or TVs! DVD player only in two small bedrooms not lounge. Decking could’ve done with a clean up and sweep, large outdoor table broken. Previous occupants left used dog bags on decking. Not much room to move in bedrooms, bedside lamps didn’t work, emailed owner who arranged for cleaner to come however this didn’t happen, glad we brought torches. WiFi is site WiFi which is limited in lodge, outside lodge worked well! We’ve been use to other lodges having gone the extra mile in providing DVD players /DVD’s/books/maps/games as well as more comfortable, cleaner, lodges. All in all a pleasant stay, but could’ve been more comfortable with those extra touches to lodge to give more star rating.
