“A great way to experience New Orleans!” The Love Shack lives up to its name as I fell in love with the property, the hospitality, and New Orleans. I've never rented a property online but the owner put me at ease by taking the time to talk to me over the phone. I had never been to NOLA and it was my birthday. The owner made my stay very special having birthday decorations up when I arrived! The owner also made sure I knew where to go and what to do during my stay. The property was very clean with all the amenities you would expect... When I come back to New Orleans I definitely plan to stay at the love shack again.

It was clean, well-stocked with kitchenware, towels, and linens, air-conditioned, and super cute! The location was wonderful as well - quiet yet a quick uber ride to all that New Orleans has to offer! I will definitely stay here again! Thanks Marcelin!

Comfy 2 Bedroom Duplex

New Orleans house

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 5

“HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!!” The duplex was located just a few minutes from the French Quarter, maybe 5 minutes I would say. Mrs. Verna stopped by on the day we arrived with lunch from Melbas and introduced herself. She told us she was just a street over if we needed anything not to hesitate. The duplex was clean and felt just like a home away from home. The fridge was stocked with drinks and the counters with baskets of snacks. Mrs. Verna goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to welcome her guests and make them feel comfortable. She is a very sweet woman and it was a pleasure meeting her and staying at her property. This was our first trip to New Orleans and when we go back we will stay with Verna again if possible, also we ate at Melbas 3 times after Verna brought over that lunch in the 5 days we were there. If you plan to stay at Verna's... Melbas is a must and I suggest call in or order online that place is super busy and for good reason. Thanks Verna we appreciated your hospitality and extending your rental to us... we hope to stay there again in the future.

“Wonderful stay” We rented both levels of this quirky home. Our family was in town for a wedding and this house fit us all. Furniture and beds all comfortable and plenty of towels. Kitchen had enough dishes, cutlery, etc. to make a meal if desired. We spent as much time as possible on the front porch. Note it will take 10 to 15 minutes by cab ($18 to $20) to get to the French Quarter. Also if you are using cabs or Uber call at least 1 hour ahead. Shortly after our arrival, Felicity came and introduced herself and made sure we had everything we needed, A very nice touch.

The Black Diamond ... Chill in the pool!

New Orleans cottage

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 2

“Perfection in Marigny!” The house is perfect. The pool is perfect. The tropical garden surrounding the pool is perfect. The little family of chickens, the sweet chihuahua, and cats is perfect (friendly and quiet). The towels and sheets are perfect. The owners are perfect - friendly and warm and welcoming and helpful. The homemade soaps and shampoos (by the owner) are perfect. I didn't get to sample, but Ann even left eggs from the chickens in the fridge! The location is perfect. I know I keep using the same word, but seriously there is no reason to look any further at vacation homes in New Orleans. Stop here, book the Black Diamond, and then count the days until you can chill out in that garden pool with a drink and the company of Ann, Tom, Dot, Lulu, and Buddha. You won't regret it.

“What a Great Place to Stay in The Garden District!” Okay, I could go on and on about how awesome it was to stay at this place! First off, it was soooooo clean! very nice to walk into a clean home. Second, There's a relaxing backyard area with a pool and hot tub (we didn't use hot tub being that it was hot outside) but both were clean and very well maintained. Also, the owner Dan couldn't have been more nice and more helpful! He was there for us when we needed him and he was a ghost while we did our own thing. Nice to have such an accommodating owner. Oh yeah, It's so close to Magazine street with all the restaurants and bars and shops. Very cool! you should for sure eat breakfast/lunch/brunch at http://www.atchafalayarestaurant.com Dan recommended it and it was incredible. We were there for a bachelor party and what a great place to come home to after a long day on the bayou looking for alligators! Anyway, A MUST STAY!!! Enjoy when you do!

“Excellent Home Away From Home” The pictures of this house really didn't do it justice. I wasn't expecting such a nice house - especially since it was Jazz Fest weekend and the rate was still affordable. We live a little over an hour away from New Orleans, but my sister was in town from Detroit for her 21st birthday so it wouldn't have been complete without a stay in the city. A short walk to the streetcar and an inexpensive cab ride from the French Quarter meant nobody had to be the designated driver. My sister and her boyfriend slept in the bedroom and we had the futon in the spacious living room. I would definitely recommend this lovely home for your next stay.

“Perfect stay” Laura and Eliot made us feel welcome and directed us to some great places. The room was large and comfortable. Laura was up with us every morning searching for directions to what we could fill our day with. Their home is beautiful and full of amazing photos both local and around the world. Everything from the City Park to the trolley stop is close and convenient. My friend and I are already planning our next trip back!

“Mixed Reviews” There is no off-street parking which made parking your own vehicle or a rental a little challenging as there was limited space adjoining the property. The access to the unit is immediately adjacent to a large gated parking lot for another business-it can feel like you're walking in an alleyway. I initially had a problem entering the unit so I called reservations who in turn gave me the propert manager's number. I called him and he answered right away and walked me through the steps. The unit was an extremely spacious townhome with nice eye appeal. The full sized kitchen was equipped with pots, pans, utensils, flatware and some dinnerware. There was a large center island that accommodates four people and a glass dining table for six, a spacious sectional and two additional seating chairs with a side table; there was a gas fireplace and half bath all on first floor which had extremely high ceilings. You ascend about 19 steps to second floor, which also had high ceilings, to bedrooms. There were two spacious bedrooms with a hall bath and a large master bedroom with a small bathroom. The rooms were furnished with budget-friendly dressers, night stands and table lamps. The unit was equipped with an ample supply of bed linens, towels, tissue and paper towels. After being there a little while Even though the unit appeared to be in relatively good shape, I noticed some imperfections in the quality of workmanship, but not a deal breaker. Aside from the parking, our biggest issue was overhead noise from the unit above. While we were in bed attempting to sleep the tenants above walked incessantly. Their floors, like ours, were probably a thin laminate and we heard every step, thump and thud of whatever dropped to the floor. Shortly after 6am on one morning, the lanscaper for a neighboring business was trimming and blowing. The unit is one block from a 24 hour Walgreens and a Houston's restaurant. It is one block from the Streetcar line. There are a wide variety of places to eat and drink within close proximity or nice walk if you choose. Overall, for our family, the unit was nice, and a better fit space-wise than a hotel room, but there were some drawbacks.

About New Orleans

The vibrant centuries-old collision of cultures in New Orleans has given this place a profoundly unique approach to food, music, celebration, architecture, and art. Not quite Europe, but certainly influenced by French, Creole, African, and Gulf Coast sensibilities, New Orleans, LA is like nowhere else on earth. Even during the height of Mardi Gras or the festive holiday season you can still manage to find a beautiful villa rental in the French Quarter, a cabin or condo rental in the heart of Faubourg Treme, or an apartment rental at the center of all the action.

Here are few things to see while you're in New Orleans:

  • The French Quarter: Dine in the elegant restaurants, admire the old world architecture and experience the unforgettable music scene of this historic neighborhood.
  • The Faubourg Treme: Scholars and historians recognize the significance of this neighborhood to the history of the African American experience. Treme is now home to several museums and Armstrong Park, named for the legendary musician Louis Armstrong.
  • Food and cuisine: Anyone who's ever tried gumbo or crawfish etouffee can tell you that New Orleans cuisine is unforgettable. Try a New Orleans Culinary History Tour to experience a broad sample.
  • Music: New Orleans is home to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Orleans Opera, and jazz, blues, and independent music venues galore.
  • Ride the streetcars: This city is home to the longest continually operating streetcar system in the world.
  • New Orleans green spaces: Visit Champion Square, City Park, and Audubon Park to feel the sun of New Orleans, learn a little about history, and spend some time outside.

The heart of New Orleans is walkable, though a car might be convenient if you plan to spend more time touring the bayou area. The best way to experience New Orleans is to find a vacation rental and stay here for a while. When you visit, be sure to bring your sense of style, your sense of adventure, and your appetite, and don't plan on going to bed early.

2 BR Vict. House - Garden District
Perfect location for us!

This was our first trip to New Orleans and we were fortunate to find a rental that was perfect for us! The location was very walkable and we enjoyed strolling the streets looking at all the interesting homes in the neighborhood. It felt very safe! We were very close to the streetcar, which was an easy way to get around. We drove a car to New Orleans and parked in front of the house without any difficulty. We arrived in town early and Byron graciously allowed us to check in early. It felt very homey staying there, and we enjoyed the covered deck out back since we had some rainy days during our stay. Loved staying here! Hope to return someday!see more

Gardner's Cottage in Fontainebleau
Great Uptown Residence In New Orleans

This cottage is located uptown, just a 10-minute drive from downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter. It was a very cozy location for my friends and I to unwind in between festivities, with the comfortable beds and couches, great TV options, and a large heated bathroom, although the shower head sprays a little aggressively. Bobby and Anne were very friendly and accommodating when needed. Although they live right upstairs, you can expect them to respect your privacy to the fullest. I highly recommend this location.see more

Very Nice, Clean and Great Location

Location was great. Near by all the activities we had going on for a wedding we were attending. A block off Canal Street and a few blocks from Bourbon St. We love walking around NOLA and eating all the great food. The place was very nice, clean and spacious. Kitchen was supplied with everything you could need if you wanted to cook. Having laundry was a bonus being we were there for 6 days. It was prefect for our little couples get away but we could have been very comfortable even if we brought our teenage boys. We would book here again.see more
