“The owners are lovely. Go and stay just to meet them!” We were a party of 7 - with 3 generations. All of us feel a great friendship with Sherril and Thomas - so kind, so helpful and fun! The Villa was really comfortable - soft Egypt cotton sheets, huge flat screen TV with great cable. There are 2 issues to be mindful of - we were in Veneto during a heat wave and we were just too hot, there were fans in the bedrooms but there seemed to be no escape - anywhere in northern Italy. Secondly, the villa is a 'drive' from everything - the transport to Venice, the local cafe and restaurants. For some, this isolation and tranquillity is a bonus but for my multi-generational group it was problematic. It seems wrong in these global warming times to wish longingly for a pool and air-con but mea culpa.

“A superb apartment” A truly wonderful apartment conveniently located close to the centre of Venice, but in an area quiet enough to be able to escape from the crowds. A great base from which to explore the city and to relax and soak up the Venetian atmosphere.

“This is a lovely apartment with amazing views of the Grand Canal” I took my daughter and two of my granddaughters to Venice for a week's stay at the Guggenheim apartment. We had space for everyone, had a very comfortable place to relax and rejuvinate between our sightseeing adventures and enjoyed a fantastic cooking class while there in the small but adequate kitchen. The apartment is very nicely set up, and met all our needs while in Venice. It's convenient location was perfect, the views from the windows amazing and the people we dealt with were very helpful and friendly. We had a great time at the apartment while enjoying our trip to Venice.

“Open the curtains and...wow!” To arrive at your front door by water taxi direct from the airport is a great way to start a break at Dogaressa. To open the curtains on your first morning is just unbelievable; gondoliers preparing their boats for a day's work against the backdrop of the Santa Maria della Salute- the church so close that you can almost reach out and touch it. To landward as well the location is wonderful, seconds from a main shopping street and minutes from San Marco, yet quiet and hidden away. The apartment is spacious although don't expect too many mod-cons. Would I recommend this property to lovers of Venice? Absolutely!

“The Wonderful Secret in the Castello” We woke up in the dark in Milan and took the train to Venice where, bone tired, we struggled to make the pay phone work and contacted Daniella. Moments later Enrico met us at the vaporetto stop and showed us to our Truly Venice apartment. It was a vision of comfort and utility. Enrico gave us the tour of the apartment, keys and a map of Venice where he circled the places close by to shop for our essentials. The apartment had everything that you expect to have to do without when you leave home on vacation: dishwasher, clothes washer, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, stove top with electric burners, stainless steel sink, and the biggest and best shower we've ever seen. Of course there was a king size bed. The closet was huge; the ceilings were high in the sky. There were two balconies. It was quiet. Oh yes, don't let me forget we had an elevator. I'm surprised we left that apartment. But we did and found we were pretty centrally located, though staying in one of the few remaining real neighborhoods in Venice, and that there was so much to see and enjoy in even in this less touristy part of Venice. We would return tomorrow if we could. And sometime we will return to Venice. Now we know where we want to stay.
