“Lovely, charming and warm cabin!” We had a great time staying at the cabin over Christmas 2012. Ideal for our family (two adults & two children). The cabin has everything you need to be comfortable, well equipped and warm. Nice and quiet place - no impact from I-70, easy to get to the shuttle bus to Vail! Short walk/or drive to supermarket if needed. The kids enjoyed the new snow and had fun rolling and tubing around the hills behind the cabin.

“Beautiful Winter Vacation Spot” This was a perfect location for a snowy winter vacation trip. The cabin was great and the people at Carolina mountain Properties are very nice and accommodating. Cabin was clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed. One of the best stocked cabins we have ever rented.

“rest,relax,recharge” It's a Beautiful home that has all the modern conveniences. It's quiet, quaint and had just what I needed to get away from it all. I enjoyed morning coffee on the back deck among the trees and afternoon walks in the woods. A perfect place to recharge.

“The cabin was nice and the setting was beautiful and tranquil.” If you want to spend some time in the country but have nice conveniences like a hot tub, TV, grill, all the stuff you need in the house, this is a great choice. The views of the Ohio River are memorable - the wild life (humming birds, hawks, rabbits, etc.) is plentiful. The cabins are really nice and offer lots of light and views. This is a perfect place to unplug and unwind!

“Perfect Spur of the Moment Getaway” We had a beautiful weekend at the cabin. We booked last minute, but Jenny was so helpful and informative that everything went as smooth as if we had been planning for months! The cabin was clean and warm and beautifully decorated. “Great Vacation Home” Just went for two days for the kids mid-winter vacation. The place was lovely. It was very clean and well organized. The beautiful wood and great fireplace created a warm charming atmosphere. Great size bedrooms. Mark was just wonderful to deal with. He was flexible and his instructions for the use of everyting was very clear. We had a large group and found it very comfortable. We would highly recommend it.

“Great house - secluded!” We were looking for a do nothing vacation just to relax and got that This house was exactly what we were looking for. We sat by creek and fire pit almost every day and read relaxed we even fished. We caught our limit daily in this creek and the creek it feeds into at the bottom of the mountain. Visited Todd Country Store for the Blue Grass on Friday night it was really good blue grass entertainment. The House was great for one couple and 2 separate adults. This Cabin was all a mountain cabin should be. The Guy who services the Hot tube and maintenance was great guy, we compliment him on his great willingness to be there should we need him(we did not have any issues at all that requires his assistance) Great place for peace and quiet from a very busy life style. Golfed in Todd beautif front 9 PS- my husband would not let me drive the cart due to the steep mountain side cart tracks ! very funny at the time what did he think I would run myself off the mountain ha ha.lol Thanks for a memorable vacation home experience!

“Rushing waters cabin” The cabin was excellent! Stayed for a week for our 14th wedding anniversary ❤ It was better than pictures show on site ❤ Loved how the water was lite up at night it was awesome! Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Anne she is a very lovely lady ❤ Loved all of her paintings in the cabin so Beautiful! We will definitely be going back!!

“We will be back!” We so enjoyed our stay at this lakefront cabin for the last two weeks of May, and were grateful we were able to bring our fur-kid, Daisy. She enjoyed swimming, fetching, and dock diving in the lake almost as much as we enjoyed watching her! So quiet and peaceful here, with a beautiful view of the lake from the front wall of windows. Comfy furniture, well-equipped kitchen, nice large deck, easy access to town - it was all we wanted and needed for our vacation. The weather was perfect for most of our stay, which we spent out on the deck or down by the water with friends we were visiting (they live in Murphy), and we were amazed so few people were out enjoying it on a long holiday weekend - we had the lake to ourselves much of the time! Phyllis and Pete were great hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip to Murphy.

“Love it--would return again!” Jeffrey was very friendly, accommodating, helpful and professional as we were booking the cabin. “Just couldn't be better!” I have just returned from a 12 day stay at Killdeer Nook. As a woman vacationing on her own this was a wonderful experience. The cabin was just right for a solo retreat. The views were fabulous! One could hike in any direction. The pond was a perfect place to sit in the evenings. The open space and quiet were beyond description. The owners, Rob and Brenda, couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! Killdeer Nook is going to become an annual tradition for me.

“Wonderful cabin!” My husband and I stayed here with our teen aged daughter for our older daughters wedding. The cabin is gorgeous. The decks are wonderful, large and comfortable. Beautifully furnished, all the comforts of home. It was a great place to relax and unwind after the wedding 'chaos'! Will definitely stay again.
