“A wonderful experience.” The chateau, full of history, is beautifully situated in the village of Saint-Martory on the river bank of the Garonne surrounded by a perfect French landscape and with the view of the Pyrenées Mountains. We have had great pleasure staying there twice and we really do recommand the place.

“Great, newly started B&B; in the heart of Montsegur” We were a party of 8 that stayed 4 nights in the Le Pèlerin in Montségur, and had a great time. Le Pèlerin is located in two old stone buildings inside the village and is completely renovated on the inside with very nice and comfortable rooms (only 4 rooms total) as well as a living room at the guests' disposal, all at a very reasonable price. This B&B; offers fantastic surroundings, a great breakfast and a very friendly host couple that was very forthcoming and helpful with tips and planning of excursions and dinners. Our stay included trips to Mirapoix and Carcassone, rafting at the river in Foix, a great hike to the two peaks up the vally (2348 and 2364 meter high), a visit to the ruins and great dinners at La Patate Fumé and the L'Auberge Montségur. We can highly recommend both the place and the B&B;.

“A wonderful holiday” Superb accommodation in beautiful surroundings with wonderful views. A very warm welcome by extremely helpful hosts and their family who ensured our time was memorable, No detail was too small, including buying food for our arrival, a delicious cake for a seventieth birthday celebration as well as ferrying us to and from an excellent local restaurant. No-one could ask for more. This will be a holiday we both will remember. I have no hesitation in recommending this gite to our friends. It was very special, thanks to the care and attention Will and his family gives to this enterprise.

“Chez Nick and Carolyn” What a find! Charming little B&B; just 50mins south-west of Carcassonne. Listen to the tinkling of the cow bells as you doze off to sleep after Nick's delicious four course evening meals and local wines, all sourced locally. Carolyn has all thought of everything from the hairdryer and cotton wool in the bathroom, to the eclectic selection of CDs. We loved our stay and came home wishing we were still sitting in the village square soaking up the sun and enjoying the friendship of our hosts.

“Beautiful, rustic gites in a quiet mountain setting” We stayed in the Ariege gite in february as part of our first Family skiing holiday. Henry (10) and Louis (9) and I all had a fantastic time on the slopes of Guzet and found Ariege and it's people so warm and friendly. The Gite it's self is warm and rustic and each day brings a new and wonderful view across the mountains. We're all really looking forward to returning next year.

“Peace and Quiet in the Country” La Maison Bleue is an oasis of calm in the hamlet of Sonnac sur L'Hers. It is easy to find and delightful to return to each day after touring. The house has lovely outdoor spaces in front of the dwelling or on the back terrace overlooking hills and fields with sheep and cows. Very restful. Interior space is good, beds are comfortable and linens of top quality. Our hosts left us farm fresh eggs, bread, milk, tea and coffee to get us started as well as olive oil, herbs and balsamic vinegar in the cupboards. Fresh flowers adorned the dining table. There is a good selection of Dvd's should you wish to stay home of an evening and catch a feel good film. If you wish, Nigel will make you dinner at the next door B&B.; It's a very good deal! Carolyn is a charming hostess. I recommend this vacation home to anyone who enjoys a tranquil holiday.

“Perfect, quiet, calm get away easy to access by public transport” We spent 5 nights in Red y Pink and it wasn't long enough! The whole experience was wonderfully relaxing and the family were very helpful. We had a bbq almost every night sitting on our decking, enjoying the fantastic views across fields filled with sunflowers that were starting to flower. The accommodation had everything we needed, was tastefully done out and was comfortable and private. The pool area is lovely, with lots of bees and butterflies enjoying the fragrant lavender that surrounds it. We enjoyed meeting the dog and one of the cats and loved how peaceful the area was. The best thing was that we were able to get there and away without hiring a car, for only 14 euros each return. It was a very easy shuttle bus from Toulouse airport to the central bus station then the 57 bus all the way to Beauville then a 15 minute walk to the gite. We used the local bus to explore Revel, Lac Saint-Ferreol and Saint Felix, where there was a fantastic restaurant on the main square (ask Will for the name). We've already started recommending Chateau de Montoussel to friends and family.

“A delightful house, village and scenic district” The house: Cal Porxo is as lovely as the photographs! When renovated, it was with such wonderful taste - so much so that we all were delighted - including our teenage boys. Ground floor is little more than a large porch with stairs to the first floor (kitchen, living room, single bedroom and shower/toilet/sink room). The next floor has the 2 double bedrooms with a shared shower/toilet/sink room. The next floor up is the terrace (through a low door) with lovely views over the pan-tiled roofs of the surrounding homes and the church tower. It was very pleasant to read up there or play cards etc. The kitchen is very well stocked - with a big fridge/freezer, toaster, cooker/hob and enough crockery to be able to fill the dishwasher! (There is also a clothes washer tucked away upstairs). We were concerned that the house would be too hot – not having air-con. The weather when we were there wasn’t exceedingly hot (for August) but we were still surprised how cool the house was. It must be the stone construction. The owner Jesus suggested that we closed the windows by day to keep the cool in and open the windows by night to let the cool in. This seemed to work. The Village: The village is truly beautiful. Medieval narrow streets and tall multi-floored narrow homes! It is all beautifully kept (in a rustic style) and around each corner you come to a view over the valley and the impressive mountains and cliffs. There is a wonderful playground for younger kids with swings and slides, and a table tennis table – which we all played on (and Jesus provided bats and balls). There are even hammocks to relax in. The municipal pool is lovely and new and a bit like an infinity pool as you look out on the stunning scenery. We found everyone in the village were friendly and greeted you as you passed. My boys made friends with some of the village boys and played polo in the pool and table tennis with them – the grand football game didn’t quite get organised! We did think that it might be so quiet and dead that it there would be no soul to the place – far from it. There were always people around sitting outside their homes chatting. And as for quiet – well their kids don’t go to bed until at least midnight and can be heard calling and shouting – and of course – are heard through all the open windows! It’s not only the kids but the church clock not only counts the hours, but the quarter hours too – and if that is not enough the clock (after a pause) counts the hours a second time! And yes it is all through the night!! (With open windows!!). We just thought it was part of charm of the ‘real’ village that Pradell de la Teixeta is. The District: It is so different to the coast here. Lots of rugged scenery. Lots of interesting car drives. We only wished we had more time to explore. Owner: Jesus Garcia is a lovely warm genuine guy. We managed to break something and he was very very accommodating. We felt he was someone you could trust.

“Quality gite, tranquil setting, friendly owners.” Very welcoming. The owners Will and Karen live onsite and are extremely helpful with local information, recommending restaurants, directions etc. Beautifully converted barn with all amenities you could wish for. Comfortable beds, quality bedlinen and towels. Swimming pool was very nice but not heated-a little cold in October although the weather was beautiful and warm. Excellent location, very peaceful, but not far from lots of little towns and pictuesque villages. Very well maintained gite and spotlessly clean.
