“Perfect vacation in St Thomas” Spent end of January, beginning of February at Laverne's place in Pavilions and Pools. Everything was perfect. The condo was clean and very comfortable. It was great having your own pool just outside the door. The property was quiet and peaceful and We really enjoyed our stay here. The girls at the front desk, the maintenance people, everyone at the facility were extremely friendly and very responsive to any of our requests. Vicars, the on site restaurant was excellent. If you go there, order the steamed mussels appetizer. It was fabulous. Every morning there are bagels, muffins, cereal, juice and coffee if you don't feel like making your own breakfast. We also used the grill to cook a few steaks during our stay. The only slight drawback was the walk to the beach, it was approximately 5 minutes long, but seemed worse if you are carrying beach chairs, towels, etc. However, once you get to the beach the walk was worth it. Sapphire Beach is a really nice beach, with changing and rest room facilities and a vendor (Banana Bar) that serves sandwiches, drinks etc. From the beach it's a short walk to the Marina where you can see the Tarpon & Barracudas swimming in the clear waters. Red hook was a great area for restaurants or a trip to St Johns and it's only a few minutes away. We did not have a car and didn't need one. The Safari taxis stop right in front of the hotel, and regular taxis are not that expensive and easy to find. Don't miss the fiddle player at Latitude 18 on the other side of the Red Hook Harbor.

“TreeTops has it all” We are from Minnesota and make a warm weather getaway every winter. We have been to a number of different places but this was our first time to the USVI. Both the destination generally and our stay with June and Steve exceeded our expectations. June called shortly after our arrival and gave us directions that were easy to follow. She was there to greet us on arrival (along with her dogs Buddy, Fred and Ginger) and walked us through the property so we knew beforehand where everything was located. While walking around, she also went through a running list of things to do and see on the island as well as nearby St. John. The best place to get groceries if we wanted to dine in, the best places nearby to go out for dinner, the best places to go to get away from "the tourists" and mingle with the local islanders, and on and on. Way too much to digest at one time. Fortunately, she and Steve were around most of the week so we could ask a second and third and fourth time when we couldn't remember. They were quite accomodating when it came to providing the "extras" like a cooler, snorkel gear and beach chairs so we didn't have to rent when we got to the beach; and we loved the "furry extras" when Buddy, Fred and Ginger periodically came up to visit during our stay. All in all, the convenient location, the wonderful view, the warm breeze making its way up the hill, the comfortable accomodations, and especially the attention we received from June and Steve made this an exceptionally wonderful break from the Minnesota winter!

“St John is just the best little island around.” The villa is wide open, very spacious. Open the big doors and you let the cool breezes in. There are always breezes at Poi Pu. It's great to have your own pool right there, even if you have spent the day at the beach. It's close to town for shopping and dinning, but there is nothing like dinning right there on the deck with the breezes and all those stars. I will be going back it's just the best place to be with friends. Carol

“A little slice of paradise!” When we were deciding on a rental in St. John I was fixated on having a great view...I can't imagine there's a much better view paired with a beautiful and clean house on the whole island! The pictures can't possibly do it justice. We couldn't stop taking pictures in hopes of capturing it the best we could. The house is very clean and well-equipped. We were able to eat some dinners in, using both the grill and the stove. We had Meredith at St. John Provisions shop for food for us and stock the house before we got there so that we didn't have to go back out once we got in the first night. Very convenient! The kids loved the pool. The beds are super comfortable and it seems that our host had thought of everything we might need - soap, shampoo, hair dryers, beach towels, chairs and coolers, etc. Our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay since we were able to rent paddle boards and skim boards for the kids. All around it was an awesome vacation. Thank you, Michael!!

“Re-impressed” I spent time at Great Expectations for one month, each, in 2010 and 2011 with family and friends. We had an amazing time. Its really a beautiful property, and its true, everything you need, they supply. in 2013 we tried a new place on a different island. What a mistake. the place did not live up to its on line review or pics. This year we went back to G E and were even more pleased (which none of us thought was possible)! The new pool is amazing. Infinity in style, large, with amazing views. Can't wait for next year!

“Loved this house!” The layout of Limin house was perfect, lots of private areas to chill and a lovely open air veranda to come together. The attention to detail was noted from the great margarita and ice machines to flashlights in all rooms. Loved to be able to make coffee in the bedroom and the sit on the balcony early in the morning and watch the scene unfold below. We loved the huge outside BBQ and took advantage of having half our dinners in. Pool was fantastic with great views and gardens all around the property were lovely. Outdoor showers were great anytime of day! We had issues with our main fridge, but Deb (Manager) was very attentive and helpful and brought us ice if we needed. The freezer worked and there was a bar fridge by the pool so we all got lots of exercise. We understand things go wrong and it is hard to get parts etc on the island. The house more than made up for this and we didn't really care too much. we hope to be back in 2 years and would definitely stay at Limin House.

“Perfect getaway with a spectacular view” We absolutely loved our stay at Blue Palm Villa. The facilities are excellent and the location is beyond description! Waking up every morning to see the incredible blue of Coral Bay encircled by lush mountains was unbelievable. The Villa not only has an unbelievable view, but the facilities themselves are beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. The pool is gorgeous. The amenities are modern and aesthetically wonderful. The gardens around the villa are exquisite. Honestly, it was hard to pull ourselves away from the Villa to go visit other places. It was so nice to relax in that little paradise. But the Villa is also close to many delicious restaurants and awesome beaches. Overall, we do not think there is a better way to see the Virgin Islands than by staying at Blue Palm Villa! We recommend it wholeheartedly!

“Magical Vacation” Thank You Gail & Curlson for allowing us to rent from you. The instant we got to your place, we felt like we were "home". The location of your property is perfect, a short drive to Red Hook and close to some gorgeous beaches. The villa included many "little" amenities such as beach towels, paper goods, hairdryers, that really made my packing job much easier! The kids had the best time swimming in the pool & hot tub and ask daily when we can go back! I think even breakfast tasted better because we were able to eat it every morning on the patio overlooking St. John and Sapphire Beach. Whenever we had a concern or question, you were a quick phone call or email away. And the place looked exactly as it does in your pictures. Review #4627412 Fantastic Villa Our family spent two unforgettable weeks in late July and early august at Calicaribe, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, We can't say enough about Calicaribe. We loved the villa -- its layout and tasteful decor. The views of St Thomas, other islands, and Cruz Bay from the property, especially the guest house and the pool area, are breathtaking. Although the heat and humidity were high during the peak hours of each day, temperatures and humidity lowered late in the afternoon so that we could enjoy wine and cheese and the view, including spectacular sunsets, on the patio and dinner on the verandah. Pictures of the property on various websites don't do it justice. Calicaribe is much better than we expected. It is clean and very well maintained. Calicaribe is blessed with an excellent local property manager, Steve Black, who has lived in Cruz Bay for 25 years and is a constructive civic activist. Whenever we needed anything, Steve was prompt in his response. St John is truly paradise. We were fortunate to have a rental jeep to get around the island and to have our daughter and her partner do all the driving. The roads are challenging because the island is very hilly and the roads have very sharp turns, which means that one does not need to worry about exceeding the 20 mph speed limit. Opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving abound. The beaches (St John has 39 of them) are beautiful. We swam at four of them: Trunk Bay, Little Lameshur Bay, Hawksnest Bay, and Maho Bay. We ate out only three times because my daughter's partner loves to cook, and having dinner on the verandah was a pleasant experience. The Fish Trap and Zozo's are excellent restaurants in Cruz Bay, although the latter may be too expensive for some folks. We highly recommend a sojourn at Calicaribe. You'll get plenty of bang for your bucks.
