“We called it Paradise!” The place was AMAZING. The pictures online are awesome; the place in real life is breathtaking. The house is small. Two tiny bedrooms, one with a full(?) sized bed in it and the other with two twins. There's a little living room with a futon. A small bathroom inside and then the gorgeous outdoor bathroom attached to the master bedroom. I've never been in an outdoor bathroom before but it was crazy cool...especially at night when you light the candles! The house itself is very tastefully decorated. It has a beachy/nautical theme, but not gaudy, just perfect. Don't worry about the smallness of the house, though, because you seriously won't spend any time inside. The whole property is designed for the guests to be outside. We spent a ton of time on the blue outdoor couches, watching our 5 year old in the pool with the ocean in the background and listening to the waves or the music from the sonos system (an awesome touch!). Hilda, Euris and Papo are great. Hilda makes the best food and even taught me how to make flan (I recommend asking her to make that). Euris is so easy to be around. He drove us to the Parque Nacional Jaragua. My husband, who speaks Spanish, learned a lot about the area from him. They got along great! Papo kept the pool clean for our daughter and even tolerated her "helping" him. He spends a lot of time keeping the grounds looking so great. And his bonfires are the biggest we'd ever seen. We like our privacy and we're a little worried about having staff around all the time, but all three were so friendly and unobtrusive that it felt like a true paradise. When we booked the house we had planned for it to be just me, my husband and our daughter. Our in-laws were with us for the first part of our vacation and then we had planned to split up for our stay at Las Guayacanes but due to some miscommunication, they were without a place to stay for the first night. We invited them to stay with us until their place in Santo Domingo was ready. They ended up staying two nights (even though they were paying for a hotel room in the capital) because the property was so great. Euris drove them into the city when they were ready to leave. A few days later we decided to drive into the city to visit with them and invited them back to paradise for our last two nights . Again they agreed whilst still having to pay for their hotel room in the city(again). That's how great the place is!!! Also Edmundo is a great host. He responses are very quick and he'll readily answer any questions you have. He's done a great job with the rental. It's fantastic.

“Outstanding” This was my second visit to Casa Las Brisas and it was even better than my first. I could keep coming back year after year. The food, magnificent views, spectacular sunsets, and luxurious accommodations all make for a superb vacation! The staff is outstanding. Although we like to golf (El Tamarindo and Isla Navidad) are great courses, it is also nice to just lay back and enjoy the wonderful weather and pools. My husband and I travel a great deal, but we love to come back to Casa Las Brisas!

“Heaven on earth” I want to thank the owner Thursten Cook for another wonderful week at South Sound. The property is located on a private cove with breathtaking views of the Ocean. The property was in great shape with a new refrigerator and a new boat. It is difficult to put into words the feeling of falling asleep at night and hearing the roar of the ocean. As this is our second time at the Villa we are starting to get to know all the citizens. The people on the Island go out of their way to make you feel confortable. “Perfect Jamaican vacation for families who enjoy being in the heart of the city.” Our hosts, Nathan and Melissa were warm and friendly and very responsive to our many questions when preparing for our trip to Jamaica. They both visited with us during our trip and were available by phone to answer any questions or give recommendations. The villa was simple and perfect. There was always a cool breeze coming off the sea through the main entrance of the house and with the ceiling fans, there was no need for air conditioning. Both bedrooms had excellent air conditioning systems however, so we used those on just a few nights when the restaurant down the road had music playing - couldn't hear a thing with the windows closed. We felt very safe in the home and out and about in Ochi, which was an initial concern of ours. It was quickly dismissed after going out with Ms. Barbara around the town for a "tour". Milo (and Kirk - who was very nice), the night security gentleman was wonderful, had many interesting stories and was very generous, bringing us mangos and fresh ackee. Ms. Barbara, our chef, was simply the best. She cooked amazing fresh Jamaican food, oriented us to the town and stores, taught me how to make some dishes, and was knowledgeable about nutrition and health. She even made my "green juice" for me in the morning. She knew the island and was quite helpful about how to get around and acclimate to being in JA. The sea was perfect for scuba and looks just like the pictures posted - we spent time snorkeling, swimming, watching the world cup on the large screen TV, playing soccer on the beach, reading and just relaxing and rejuvenating in the sunshine. The Knutsford Express bus took us to Kingston and back - would highly recommend it for traveling distances - very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful family vacation, my boys (11 & 16) loved it and felt it was way better than going to an all-inclusive resort - the food was CERTAINLY better! We hope to get back there soon - perhaps rent both Eden Sands and Neptune, the villa next door. Thank you to all those we met at Eden Sands Villa for a great Jamaica visit.
