An oasis of calm overlooking the sea a few steps from the Aeolian Islands.
The apartment is located in a scenic place and in the historic center, has two bedrooms with TV and air conditioning/central heating in all the rooms, dining room, bathroom recently renovated, furnished kitchen with cooking utensils and appliances (hob, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, hair dryer, TV, microwave oven, barbecue) class A +. Parking is a short walk from home. Guests have access to a wide and panoramic veranda furnished with table for dining, lounge to socialise whilst admiring the panorama. Can stroll in the garden and reap the benefits. During your stay will be given information and help on everything you can make useful and unique stay, reservations, transportation, restaurants, clubs, interesting itineraries.
Malani offers the best in season: the city, being situated on a Gulf has two beaches, a pebbly (to the West) and a sandy beach (to the East). It is also the starting point for all connections with the Aeolian Islands, through a service of hydrofoils and ferries.
The presence of urban settlements in the territory of Milazzo, let assume that the presence of man in this part of Sicily, both traceable to Neolithic period.
Milazzo was founded by the inhabitants of Zancle (????????), today's Messina, because the importance of pólis resided in the strategic location on the Strait and was tightened between the sea and the mountain: therefore this conditioned its territorial development. The Zanclei founded a colony on a peninsula and Cape, all towards the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands: Mýlai (?????), called by the Romans Mylae, then Apple, then Arabs Milazzo. According to one theory, it seems that the name of Milazzo derives from the fact that here was the Apple Creek, so named for its dark waters.
The Acropolis was located on the Hill, where today is located the medieval castle, the town at the foot and down the Hill, where today lies the old town, the historical centre, and the necropolis on the isthmus that borders the Cape, where there is the town today.
Milazzo was first an important commercial center and port of the island, mainly due to the proximity to the Aeolian Islands and the Phoenician-Carthaginian western part of Sicily. In fact, during the first Punic War was fought the famous battle ship (260 BC), who defeated the Carthaginians and their dominance of the sea, headed by Commander Caio Duilio, and he did give the Tyrrhenian Sea as «Mare nostrum '.
Milazzo is part of the circuit of Villages, is associated with the National Association City of wine that work for the promotion and enhancement of environmental resources, landscape, artistic, tourist and historic wine regions.
Tradition has it that Giuseppe Garibaldi, during the expedition of the thousand, will be sitting to eat bread and onions on the steps of the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore at the bottom of the marina Garibaldi.
During the famous battle of Milazzo between Garibaldi and Bourbon on July 20, 1860, a cannon, obviously calibrated wrong, shot by Bourbon from Castle Hill, it broke against the right wall of the Church of San Francesco di Paola leaving it unscathed. The Cannonball is still set in that wall to witness to that epic day.
