“Amazing!”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2013

The Palm House is gorgeous, is located on the top of a hill, and has stunning views! If you are a first timer in Costa Rica and are renting a car, make sure it has 4WD. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the back yard and pool area are amazing! Watching the sunset from the pool at night is truly indescribable and was a highlight for my family and I. We enjoyed coming back to this calming house after busy days of sightseeing. We would definitely come back to Costa Rica and we would absolutely stay at The Palm House!

“Everything Was Perfect”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2013

We had the most amazing time staying at the Palm House! The house and location are even more spectacular in real life. The house is even nicer than a hotel, everything is so well organized, not only in the house, but the owners also send you a complete and very helpful welcome guide. Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations. Martha (the housekeeper) is so nice and helpful. A four wheeldrive car is essential in the area, we had a small SUV and we were able to get around just fine. There was a big grocery store near by and we visited four spectacular beaches that were only 20 minutes away. I highly recommend this house and will definitly be going back!

“A place to remember - loved it!”

We stayed at The Palm House in July 2013. We wanted a place that was close enough to Tamarindo beaches (within 10-15 min drive) but still had the peace and quiet and space we needed for two families (5 adults and 3 kids). We got all that and much more at the Palm House. First of all the house is part of a gated community and you need a code to open the gate (I think there were 3 other houses) which made us feel very secure in a new place/country. Sometimes the pictures of the house don't really live up to the expectations but that was not the case with the Palm House. As soon as you enter the house, you are blown away by the open layout and beauty of the house/patio/pool and the panoramic views from the patio! I can truly say this is the most beautiful house we have ever lived in! Also, the patio has a pool table for those who want to. We didn't get a chance to try it out because we were too busy having fun in the lovely pool and relaxing in the patio (hammock was my favorite spot in the patio) taking in the views around us! There were three bedrooms and the beds came with trundle option so it was very easy to accommodate 8 of us. The kitchen was fun to cook in and was very modern. The owners have done a nice job of stocking the place with all that you will need to cook up a nice meal while you are there. We also had Martha, the housekeeper cook up costa rican dinner one evening and that was a treat! You will also find detailed information about local restaurants in information booklet put together by the owners. We did check out some of the restaurants listed by them and enjoyed the food there as well. Tamarindo beaches were an easy drive from the house. We loved Tamarindo and had fun checking out different beaches every day. Friendly people, good food, lovely beaches and the beautiful and relaxing Palm House to come back to! We were so glad that we picked this place (its reviews were spot on) - it made our vacation seem perfect!

“Spectacular!”

What a fantastic retreat! The Palm House is probably the most relaxing place in Costa Rica! We were there the last week of July with our 4 year old and some friends and their family (2 more kids). We had stayed in Tambor which was a couple of hours south, and we heard that the Gunacaste region (north west) was a bit less rainy this time of year, and had access to great beaches as well, so we wanted to find a place that was well situated to Tamarindo. By far, the Palm House provided great value, in price, location, amenities and access. When we drove up the drive way, we could right away tell we hit a jackpot! The views are unbelievable. The layout of the Palm House is just gorgeous. Lots of open space, a beautiful open kitchen, 3 big bed rooms and bathrooms like luxury hotels, and everything was sparkling clean. The dining area extension + adjoining swimming pool was just the best hang out place. We took turns in the hammock relaxing/browsing (they have wifi) or would play a game of 9 ball when ever we felt like it! The kids spent most of the time in the pool when we were there. The location was prime - we were able to get to the Tamarindo Beaches like Playa Grande and Flamingo within 15-20 minutes w/ great Sodas (quick eat restaurants) on the way. After spending the day out side, we just loved to come back and relax at the Palm House. We didn't have to use the aC a lot because the place just had excellent ventilation being up top a hill - the breeze would just be lovely in the afternoons. The owners checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our stay and were gracious to ask what else they could do to make it more comfortable for us. Their house keeper Martha was awesome. She was so considerate of our privacy, but made sure everything was clean and neat each day. And she is a great cook to boot - she even made pancakes for the kids without us asking! Overall, the Palm House is on our top 3 best vacations ever! We can't wait to go back!

“Dream house”

We had an incredible week in CR. The palm house was just beautiful, open floor plan looking down the valley with a superb pool. After a tiring day at the beach, I loved to lay in the pool and see the valley bellow. The cleaning/cooking person was very nice and a few nights we asked her to cook for us original CR food and she did great. The house is just s few miles from the beach, so it's close to get there but at the same time is quiet and peacefull when we came back. As you can see I thoroughly enjoyed CR and the Palm House, ready to go back next year.

Well, upon driving up to the Palm House I could just see that it was everything and more that the website described. The views were epic and the surrounding mountains goregous. The sounds of the howler monkey made it seem as though I was in the middle of the jungle, and I was 500 ft up into the canopy. I loved the pool and Rancho were we spent most of the time. It was clean spacious and exotic. Just 15 minutes from Tamarindo and 20 minutes to one of the hottest surf spots along the coast, Avellanas and Lil Hawaii. Definately make the drive out to Lola's. You won't regret the day. Martha, the house keeper was amazing. We had her make us lunch and dinner a couple of time. She made traditional cusine that was freah and tasty. I particularly loved the hammock where I spent most of the time between surf sessions relaxing listing to the monkeys and absolute quiet! The cool moutain breeze blow gently across keeping it cool and breezy under the Rancho. The bedroooms were fantastic and bathroom awesome. The worst part of the stay was the fact that we had to leave at some point. We are already planning our trip for next year to stay there again. It was so easy to check in and out with no hassles. You will absolutely love the place.

“Wish we could stay for a month!”

I booked the Palm House last minute when our group decided that we would be traveling to Costa Rica instead of elsewhere. Alexandra was very nice and accommodating when I spoke with her and the pictures of the house looked amazing so we made our decision right there. Glad we did! The house is even better in person. Great views. Amazing sunsets. Plenty of space. One of the easiest places to relax that I have ever rented. Everything you need is right there. What I liked most was that it was outside of any towns, very quite and peaceful back in the hills from the shore. It was a perfect home to relax at during the mornings and evenings while having good access to exploring and surfing any of the near by beaches. I have to say that my only complaint is not having a good internet connection. Not that you would ever want to spend much time in front of a computer here and I did appreciate it in that respect, but it would be nice to be able to look up information about the area and check up on a few thing back in the U.S. easily. I have yet to use any internet connection in this area though that was great so this wouldn't be something specific to the palm house! Still an excellent rental.

“Spotless vacation home”

Staying in The Palm House is a wonderful experience - you hardly want to leave. We spent a week with our three kids at this heavenly place, offering enough room for all of us and being in excellent condition. Rarely did I see a place so well kept and with only the most sophisticated design. Martha the housekeper is very friendly and helpful and adds a lot to the charm of the property. The view towards the ocean at the horizon is magnific and invites you to spend all the time on the terrace or in the pool - but there are many attractions nearby. We visited all of the many beaches in the area, Playa Conchal being the most suitable for our baby because of its warm and calm waters, providing also much needed shade. We came in august, although it´s the green season, all outdoor activities are possible - enough to keep you busy. We hope to return soon. Andreas & family

“Best Vacation Ever!”

My husband and I recently returned from our first trip to Costa Rica, and we enthusiastically recommend the Palm House for anyone planning a trip to Tamarindo! The Palm House is absolutely gorgeous, and completely exceeded our expectations. We rented an SUV and drove in from Liberia airport. We were able to find the house very easily. I am glad that we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle, however, because it is at the top of a very steep hill! The house is in a gated community, so it is a very safe environment. It overlooks a beautiful valley, with only 2-3 houses nearby, and is very private and peaceful. The house is also very close to several attractions. There is a Zip Line just down the road, which we enjoyed. We went horseback riding at Black Stallion Ranch, also just down the road. We went into Tamarindo often, for some meals and other activities, including an awesome massage and deep sea fishing. We also went to Lola's on Playa avellanas - don't miss this place! It is gorgeous! But with all our activities, we were always eager to return to the beautiful Palm House. The house is very well appointed, with all the comforts of home (Wifi, Stereo, electric grill, Skype, etc.). The upstairs master bedroom is very comfortable, with high quality bedding and blackout drapes and its own individual air conditioner. We stocked up on groceries at the auto Mercado, and cooked many of our own meals. There are two staff people who manage and maintain the house. Marta is the housekeeper, and keeps everything immaculately clean. The appliances appear to have never been used, they are so clean! Wilder is the gardener, and maintains the gorgeous landscape and the beautiful pool. Both of them are so nice. And our hosts, Eduardo and alex, were so helpful, and touched base with us to make sure we had all we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I wish I was still there in Costa Rica at the lovely Palm House! I would love to return one day soon.

“Paradise in Tamarindo!”

Would definitely recommend this amazing home. But, don't forget to rent a 4 wheel drive because you will need it here. :)
