Description

Thank you for your interest in La Casa di Borgo Nuovo (The House of the New Hamlet), my restored, Medieval townhouse in beautiful Todi in Italy.

Built in the 11th century, the house offers modern amenities while resonating a classic, Italian architecture – stone walls, wood beam ceilings and terracotta floors. La Casa di Borgo Nuovo is now available for holiday or longer term rentals.

The Autumn months are some of the best times to spend in Italy with less tourists, warm weather, robust flavors and many festivals such as the Truffle, Slow Food, Chestnut and Chocolate festivals. Local vineyards also are harvesting the grapes at this time of year and it is a perfect time to join a truffle hunt!

The house is a three-story townhouse with 2 double bedrooms located on a quiet, residential street within walking distance of the main piazza, local restaurants, shops and amenities.

Why Visit Todi?: Todi is a picturesque medieval hill town in Umbria, surrounded by medieval, Roman and Etruscan walls. Although it's a hill town, its center at the top of the hill is flat. The central piazza, originally the Roman forum, has several beautiful medieval buildings. Sights are close together and there are good places to linger, enjoying the views or the ambiance. Todi or the surrounding countryside would make a good base for visiting southern Umbria.

Todi is in the southern part of the Umbria region, the region in the center of Italy. Like neighboring Tuscany, Umbria is dotted with hill towns but has fewer tourists. It's easy to visit as a day trip from nearby towns like Spoleto (44km), Orvieto (38km), or Perugia (46km). Todi is near the Tiber River overlooking the Tiber Valley.

Additional Information: The house is perfect for 1-4 adults (there are two double beds). Families with infants or children over 4 are OK.The house is not suitable for toddlers and the very elderly as there are steep stairs.

The house has iPod speakers to play any iPod. There is no TV, Internet or phone. It's recommended you bring a mobile phone. Internet service can be purchased and/or there is WiFi available in town.

Food markets, post office, shops, restaurants and cafés are within walking or driving distance.
