“Everything you expect, and more.”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

My wife and I had the pleasure of renting Casa Fiesta during the month of February 2015. This was our fifth trip to Costa Rica in as many years, and we weren't disappointed with any part of our trip. First off, Mike and Alexis were great to work with in regards to getting the house rented. All my emails were answered promptly, directions and explanations were concise and accurate, and nothing was left to chance. Reading some of the other reviews, it seems like some people grew tired of the dirt road leading to the home. The road itself is only 3.1 kilometers off the paved road, and I really didn't think it was all that bad. We traveled over it for a month and it normally took 8 minutes from the time we left the house until we hit the blacktop. If you haven't drove on a dirt road in Costa Rica, then you haven't been to Costa Rica. Don't expect interstate driving. That's part of the charm. I've booked other rentals online based on photographs and been somewhat disappointed of the place after I've arrived. Many times, the photos of the rentals were taken in the best possible light at the best possible angle. Technically, they were being truthful but reality was sometimes lost from what was presented. The pictures shown on here of Casa Fiesta do not do the home justice. The home is nothing short of spectacular and we were blessed to see some of the best sunsets on planet earth. The home is accommodating in every sense of the word. It's great for relaxation, grilling dinner with friends, lazing by the pool, or surfing the internet while planning the next days activities. The bed in the master bedroom was amazing and the kitchen comes equipped with anything you would need to prepare full course meals or just brew a good cup of coffee. No review of this home is going to be complete without speaking about the people who keep this place running and looking great, namely Diego and Jennifer. Diego keeps every part of this home functioning properly. He kept the pool in excellent condition, made himself available to answer any question regarding Potrero or the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. Diego is also one of the best tour guides in the area, be it zip lining, fishing, boating, or visiting one of the National Parks. You won't find anyone more knowledgeable of the area or more giving of their time. Jennifer also provides an outstanding service in keeping the inside of the home cleaned and properly stocked of items. I will have to say that one of the best memories of this home and trip is going to be the friendship we made with them. Diego and Jennifer are quality people, and you can trust them completely. Maintaining a home like this requires much effort and dedication. Diego and Jennifer are well suited for this responsibility, and they do it with a smile every day. You won't go wrong renting this place if you're thinking about it. The only surprise I had was that it was better than I anticipated. We would go back in a heartbeat. Scott and Lib

“Unforgettable views and experience”

Reviewed 16 Nov 2013

We arrived back in the States on early Monday morning, and our regular work and family routine immediately slapped us in the face. What a harsh reality check after our amazing Costa Rican vacation! We had a fantastic time in Guanacaste, and Cass Fiesta was everything we imagined it would be - and a little bit more. The views were indescribably gorgeous. I would have been content to sit on the upper deck or poolside all day long and watch the sunshine and clouds change throughout the day. Casa Fiesta was such an incredibly relaxing setting. The house itself is beautiful and well-stocked with everything needed to enjoy an extended stay. It feels like a remote and exotic location, but the beach, groceries, and restaurants were only a 5-10 minute drive down the mountain. The pool was a refreshing respite from the afternoon sun, and the hilltop temperatures were very comfortable - especially in the evening while enjoying sunset and twilight. The howler monkey calls and exotic bird fly-bys in the morning were enjoyed immensely on the deck while sipping coffee. Simply amazing. Casa Fiesta also benefits tremendously from Diego and Jennifer's presence. We especially enjoyed Jennifer's meal (arguably the best we had all week!) and Diego's sage advice. Diego also took us whitewater rafting on very short notice and arranged everything. We couldn't have done it without him. As our vacation transitioned to other locations in Guanacaste, I found myself missing the scenic view from Casa Fiesta and wished we could have spent the entire duration on the seaside mountaintop overlooking Portrero. Thanks again for accommodating us, and we look forward to planning our next Costa Rican journey at some point in the not-too-distant future.

“Relaxation? Si!”

We have rented here on two occasions, at different times of the year. We like the spectacular location of this house, overlooking as it does the marvelous hills of Guanacaste and the Pacific Ocean below. Casa Fiesta offers the size and all modern conveniences that a large family or a group of many couples that one could hope for, while allowing many outdoor patio and poolside locations to 'chill'. Speaking of the pool, you may never want to leave for the beach with the gorgeous infinity pool that gives the sensation of swimming among the clouds. Be aware that the secret of this house is getting out. We have found it advantageous to book well in advance, especially during the 'high' season.

“Step inside and feel all stress melt away”

What an oasis! My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Fiesta for a week in March 2011. The owners, Mike and alexis, just got on FlipKey. I am happy to finally have the chance of sharing my impressions-although the magic of this place is hard to put into words. Casta Fiesta affords luxurious elegance and seclusion in an exotic and down-to-earth location. It is perched high on a mountain dirt road overlooking the sparkling bays below, and you can toggle quickly back and forth between an ocean swim, a stroll through the authentic Tico village, and a quiet read (or a cool beer) in your shaded pool-side hammock. Think of this place as your dream home-the one you want to build when you win the lottery. We loved every minute of our stay and wish we could have added on another week. P.S. Kudos to the super friendly caretakers Diego and Jennifer.

“awesome costa rica”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2012

This is a slice of heaven above the coast of costa rica. Nestled in the mountains we woke up to the sound of monkeys the sight of blue morpho butterflies and the reflection of the ocean off the infinity pool. Mornings included a brisk walk upward the top of the mountain and quiet meditation on one of the decks. Afternoons were spent enjoying the ambiance of all the different spots of this incredible property. At night it was 5 minutes down the mountain to mingle with the friendly locals. Don't stay too long because you won't want to come home!!!
