Description
This special holiday apartment (127 sqm) is located in the historic city center of Taormina offering stunning views, a large roof terrace and a parking option. It is located in the quiet part of the historic city center of Taormina and everything can be reached within a short walking distance.
The apartment provides a specious living - dining area, a very pleasant terrace and several balconies (with impressing views), two bath rooms and 4 bed rooms suitable for up to 7 guests.

Upon previous request, we are happy to provide a baby cot and high chair.
The kitchen is fully equipped and offers all utensils for cooking and dining. It has no oven but a microwave.
The living room is equipped with an extra flip-out sofa, a fireplace is bright and comfortably furnished offering stunning, unforgettable views on the Mediterranean sea and Mt. Etna.
There is a satellite flat-screen TV and free WiFi. The apartment is air-conditioned and bed linen and towels are being provided. In case you visit Taormina during winter time you can heat the apartment with the air conditioning pleasantly and also use the open fireplace.
Due to it's special position, the apartment offers nearly a 360-degree view over the Gulf of Taormina, the coast of Calabria, the old town of Taormina, the Mount Etna, and Castelmola. The large roof terrace and the balconies are furnished and invite you to dine with unforgettable views of Taormina and the Mediterranean.
The apartment has been fully renovated in 2022 and is situated on the 5th Floor (without an elevator) of a quiet apartment building near Corso Umberto (the main shopping and restaurant area). You can directly reach the apartment by car and have the possibility of parking in the immediate vicinity.
EXTRA SERVICES
A housekeeping/cleaning service and an extra change of bed linen and towels can be booked separately (at a charge).
To secure your valuables we provide a safe.
PARKING
I recommend using the public car park at Porta Catania ( 7 minutes walk, parking is at charge there).

“Good Apartment”
Generally very nice place, and Roberto was very friendly and helpful. We don't mind the stairs or walk up - all good exercise. Good air-conditioning. Good Bathrooms though showers a little weak at times. Comfortable beds. Kitchen fine though need bigger glasses and mugs in my opinion But a few things The main surprise to us after booking the place was that the pool was several miles away at a beach club, albeit with a free shuttle service from the village. Looking back at the web page, this was explained to an extent, though the property is described as with swimming pool, which is perhaps a bit misleading (I don't think it's a private beach club, though we did get a discount). That all said, it's a good beach club with good pool and easy access to the beach, plus good food and a good masseur. The photo of the terrace area should be updated with the new parasol, which is not nearly as nice-looking at the one in the photo (though it still provided shade fine). One or two Sunloungers would be a welcome addition, given the distance to the beach. Locks on the bathroom doors would be nice. Unlocking the front door caused us some frustration. If you don't actually double-lock the door it's easier, though it was still taking a few goes. Pulling the door seemed to help sometimes. During a big storm there was as leak by the bunk bed room, but short-lived and soon mopped up. So all in all, it's a good place and we very much enjoyed our stay there.

Response from the owner Dear Stephen, thank you for your unfair review. Agreed, the wifi key provided in my welcome package seamed to be wrong as most probably the previous guest has rest the password of the router without advicing me. However I have responded to you "immediately" (within 1 hour!) after having received your email providing the default wifi key. To resolve this problem much faster why haven't you called me right away? Besides, our check in procedure includes always the check if our guests can log in to the wifi net work. The phone number of the beach club was correct. As it turned out in our email communication you where calling with a Canadian mobil phone plan and due to this circumstance you should have dropped the country code. As each international mobil system works differently we can not be aware if you need to dial the Italian phone numbers with or without country code. You should have contacted your phone provider for more detailed information on this. When you checked out, we noticed that the air condition was set to "15 degrees" Celcius which is absolutely beyond the technical possibilities and the needs to have rooms pleasantly cool. Upon check in we have adviced you that due to security reasons and to avoid any damage to the air condition you cannot set all air condition appliances together at one time too such a low temperature and that the security fuse will be activated. As we have explained this I wonder why you kept set such an extrem low temperature. Besides I wonder why you haven't called me for some assistance? The lighting of the terrace is organized to provide a soft and pleasant illumination in the evening which so far was appreciated by all of our guests. I am very sorry that you have different requirements. But if you would have contacted my I had provided a bright illumination for you.

Response from the owner As per the images we show on the ad one can see very well that the penthouse is an attic which stretches out on the full dimension of the building which was always appreciated much by our clients. I would like to note that David has stayed in December when we had an extrem cold winter in Taormina . For the first time since 30 years it snowed in Taormina. As all houses in Taormina the buildings are done for summer time and not for an extrem cold winter with ice and snow. This should not surprise as one knows that in south of Europe the houses are build for summer temperatures. Nevertheless I want to mention that the apartment does offer not only an efficient air condition for summer time but also a heating which is sufficient for regular winter time. Besides the apartment is also offering an open fire place which can be used for romantic evenings or to heat the living room. As we provide for any of our guests at least two towels, and for women an extra towel for the bidet, toilet paper and soup as much one needs the statement of David is just simply not correct. Besides we always supply further towels or toilet paper upon request as we try do our very best to make our guests most comfortable. It is surprising that David is complaining about the "great" view on Mount Etna. It is true that one can see Mount Etna from the living room window and it it is really great! But why David has not mentioned the spectacular views one has from the 4 balconies, the terrace, from the living room and two of the bed rooms? From the terrace one has a 270 degree view on one of the most beautiful landscapes and coast lines of Sicily, on the old town of Taormina, the coastline of Calabria and the bay of Giardini exactly as our images show. Needless to say that only very little apartments in Taormina offer such an unique view than my apartment. As a matter of form I need to mention that David came up with a request of refund of the rent at the end of his stay complaining about one ridiculous issue to find fault with something which I couldn't accept as he wanted. This review seams to be his response which I regret very much as all of our guest love my place.

Besides, the apartment is just a 3 minutes walk distant from the main shopping / restaurant street Corso Umberto. “Penthouse in Taormina”
We booked this apartment as it looked lovely on the website, Mike the owner was very helpful from the outset with directions, check in and key handover etc. Once we arrived (we used the local bus from Catania airport to Taormina) we found the apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a stay. The air con was very welcome on hot nights. The apartment is on the top floor and the views are stunning, and we loved breakfast on the terrace! There are lots of stairs down from the apartment to the street and then into the town, which can be hard on the way home! Taormina is great with lots to see and do, the beaches are beautiful and we visited other beaches on the public bus. Probably the only down-side was Taormina was very busy in August, but still it was a great stay.
